Well said! I have installed a Tailgater on a truck at the customer's insistence and he understands that it voids the warranty by doing this. With that said, so far so good...

I have a wireless internet card through AT&T and have sling box hooked up to my Comcast at home. With that being said it's easy, cheap, and super practical to watch TV anywhere. the down side is that i can also watch on my phone so it's easy to get distracted any time i have a free second.

This requires a few things to happen though right?
1. Be stopped somewhere with at LEAST a decent 3G or 4G connection tower from ATT nearby. (not always an easy thing to do)
2. Don't go over your data cap watching it. (and yes I know that there are a few folks left with grandfathered unlimited plans, but most do not) -
DieselBoss posting on weekends and now after hours. 2012 we are in trouble.

All for the lovely price of 100+ bucks a month for internet service.

How much do you pay for the internet service? Isnt the unlimited plan up to 100+ dollars?

When I drove my truck I had DirectTV and I put the dish on a 10' pole that I cut in half. When I stopped for the night I would put the two together (using a coupler) and then I'd take my backup camera and point it at the TV screen with the signal strength page displayed. Then I'd go outside with the camera monitor where I could see the TV screen and then rotate the dish until the signal was at full power. Voila! Ten minutes. The 10' pole was always above the trucks and I didn't have to be facing south to get a signal.
I also had both coasts network broadcasts. So if I stopped too late to catch east coast programming I just had to wait 3 hours and record my shows from the west coast.
Worked great except when it was windy. Blew the pole around alot. Never got blocked by passing trucks.
Going back to Swift in a couple of months and planning on getting a pole that is made for the dish and some ladder attachments so I can fasten it to the back handrail. Then raise and lower the pole as needed. This way everything is locked down and wind shouldn't be an issue.
I will be switching to the VuQube once I get some extra cash. I like the fact that it self levels. Always had to take into account whether the truck was level or not when selecting the azimuth.
I used a generator for all my electrical needs. -
Some of us are grandfathered on unlimited plans of old. Like Verizon. They dropped new unlimited accounts, but I'm grandfathered. 30 bucks a month.

Anyone try Directv steaming on a 3G and 4G connection yet. I have Directv at home and they offer Directv Everywhere now, just wondering how it worked on the road.

@ ramkatral I'm just curious, do you have a 4G phone? and if so did you get before or after they started messing with the unlimited plans. I have $30 unlimited right now with a 3G but can't get a straight answer if I switch to a 4G if I'll loss the unlimited plan. 1 CSR I asked said I'll keep unlimited another said I won't.
