Some companys pay a bonus for every clean inspection, so some drivers peal them off ASAP.

Why would a drive peel off the CVSA sticker ASAP ??? That sounds like a ######### thing to do.

The company I'm leased to gives $250.00 for every spotless inspection.

I traveled to Finland a lot for business and would tell people that the kids working McDonalds in Finland speak better English than most Americans.

Some of the Old Timers may remember back that the Banning Coop was about as crooked as a Mexican Federali........

I don't recall how many DOT were busted...They were placing rigs OOS for having bad brakes when they weren't.....But if history is being repeated at that coop.....It's time to call in the Feds again and make some arrests......

This brings up a good question that I've been meaning to ask. How can a driver that receives a citation as a result of an incompetent DOT officer's finding of a violation ensure that the officer receives a substantial financial penalty for his / her incompetence? As drivers, we incur severe financial penalties as a result of violations / CSA points, so it's only fair that when a DOT officer makes a mistake that they incur the same level of pain.

And can the judge order the officer and / or the state to cover the legal costs of fighting the violation in court?

You would think so.....But when they make mistakes....It's still "Your Fault".....

Trinidad is famous for being way off on their scale.....Even when you show them a CAT Scale Ticket showing you have a legal load....Good luck....They'll say their scale is more accurate than any CAT scale....

    More than likely....

    NOT...

While not a civil matter (lawsuit - like a breach of contract where the prevailing party would be entitled to fees), or a criminal matter, per se (where the defendant goes to JAIL if he loses, and goes FREE if he wins) - the award of attorneys fees to the "prevailing party" doesn't come into play in defense of traffic/DOT equipment violation tickets...
