Back up and rolling!! New air compressor is working great!
Gave it a good test run on our very first time to Donner Pass carrying just shy of 80,000.
Wasn't nervous at all. Didn't groan once. (Dennis would be proud!)
I also have to comment on the Breakdown department at Covenant.
This will be the second time we have experienced mechanical issues while on the road.
On each occassion, they have handled things wonderfully. Even the tow operator who towed us this last go round made the comment how he was impressed with how the Breakdown department handled driver breakdowns. This made us feel great!
until next time...

Congrats on being back up & on the road (& successfully navigating donner grossed out)!
-
Thank you double yellow! I had to laugh at that. For a moment I didn't know if you meant congrats on navigating Donner while being grossed out at the history of Donner or that you meant navigating Donner at almost Gross maximum weight. Too funny!
Hey, by the way, have you had any issues with your Qualcomm or the Qualcomm not communicating properly? -
It has been really slow at times -- I'll probably reboot mine before hitting the road again.
-
God Bless you both, My husband and I just finished truckdriving school in Georgia. We are shopping for a company to go with. Hope this works for you all.
Let us know. JJFitz -
We have had some issues with the QC. Rebooted several times. Got that dreaded blue screen of death a couple times. But anything mechanical, we anticipate failure at some point.
Sure hope all is well with you. We are to be home to Florida at 6pm tonight, but here we sit in Pensylvania. Missed my daughter's birthday today. She is heartbroken. But she is young, so she will recover. Most of our family already understand that this is what to expect in OTR. We have never gotten home on our scheduled home time. So upon heading to a local Pilot in PA, we stumbled upon an Amish Farmer's market and Bakery. OH MY! Talk about yummy! My husband ran around like a happy little kid. He found the Red Velvet Woopie Pies.
Now he's all hopped up on sugar.
But I'm one to talk... I am hopped up on Snickerdoodles!

You all too! There are a lot of great carpet companies over in Georgia. We went through Dalton just recently and could not believe how many there were! You should have no problem finding a driving job. -
Hope this posts! What an amazing sight to see!

Sorry you missed her birthday -- I've been trying for 6 months to keep an appointment with my dentist (really good/busy dentist with a 2+ month waiting list). I'd been trying to just ask for two days off (day before & day of), but I think I'll need to give at least 4 days buffer in the future...
My next scheduled "hometime" is an appointment with either customs or homeland security for a FAST pass -- I really don't want to have to cancel on folks like that... -
The "buffer" thing we learned after our first home time request. I still squawk, but that's just me. You will have to let us know how things go with the FAST pass.
Definitely don't miss that! I look forward to hearing about your outside the border escapades.
(goodness, I am such a nerd with the smiley faces!)
As for our daughter, well, she will forget all about it once mama cooks a nice meal and gives her her goodies. We did our buffer this time for our anniversary. Heading home in a bit with our load. Looking so forward to sharing with all our friends and family!!
That is if my husband doesn't leave me at the next fuel stop. LOL!
