    Bruce, I am familiar with crystal switching, I've done to gain those "extra channels" in CBs.You say 10M Am is dead but I hear quite a bit of activity when the band is open, especially to the west coast.

    Anywhere from 29-29.1 MHz, and occasionally higher.I have regularly heard some guys running heavy iron on 29.1 MHz.

    Just curious... just why did CB go from 23 channels to 40 channels?

    At the time CB was packed with users so the FCC opened 17 new ch for use ....

    Yep someplace I have a photo of my HT-37 / 75A2 station ...in a rack .....
    I don't mess with AM but can use it if need be .....
