    Miles cut ????
    Were the drivers you talk to OTR or regional drivers ???
    What Region ???
    Do they have their Hazmat, and Canada access ???
    Do they drive at night ??? This one is a big one. I have come acroos more drivers who purposely run their clocks and runs so that they don't have to run at night. With E-log, they can claim they are unable to do a pick up or drop.

    And another one, how often are they late on loads ?

    I have been with them 1 1/2 yrs. Miles have not been a problem. (then again, I only go home every 6-8 weeks) and I am OTR... they can keep that regional crap.. no thanks

    Yeah , right . All I see union shops doing at contract renewal is getting locked out or going on strike for a couple of months then make concessions and go back for less than you had.

    I would have to honestly say, I work for Con-Way Truckload, and I have not seen a reduction in miles. When I came back out on Friday of last week, I got a reduction in miles, but that is from me being home for 3 days, because of an emergency situation that occurred back at home, they gave me a long run when I left back out, but the reason why I got a short on miles last week, because my truck broke down, but before I broke down, I got in 3,774 miles. Respectfully speaking here in regards to Fat Slob, your post has no merit at all. They are running me good. When a truck breaks down that is going to happen, and there is nothing you can do about that, and I am sure the miles will pick back up after my truck is fixed. Each truck has to have 120,000 miles on it in a years time. Bristol, I can honestly say, my miles have been really good. Do not let this person with the name of, "Fat Slob" deter you from coming to Con-Way Truckload if that is what you want to do. Fat Slob has been bashing Con-Way Truckload from what I have seen. There is good and bad in each company, but my miles have been really good before I broke down here at Con-Way Truckload. Bristol, I hope this helps ease your worries you may be experiencing.

    10 years here and I avg 120-135,000 a year,,every year,,Im SE Regional and avg 2500 a week and home nearly every weekend,no paid blogger (as there isnt any on here) miles are what you make them,,best advice I can give yo is stay east of 35,out of TX,,,and if you take a load out west remeber we dispatch at 47 mph(ill let you figure that out)

    My miles have been cut, lmao I'm enjoying it.make a little less money, but I never have to worry about parking, I'm guaranteed my miles, and I don't have to deal with the northeast...hell I don't have to deal with anyone except Texans for the most part. Oh yea, this was my choice to take a dedicated account.

    Re: having trouble getting miles at Conway ...Does driving team give you any kind of priority with Conway? Would it help to be willing to drive Canada runs? Thanks.

    Driving team from what I hear does not give you priority but it does give you access to team only runs.

    All new hires MUST run Haz-mat and MUST run Canada.

    I run regional and average 2500 mi a week and a reset every weekend through good planning on my part. Biggest way to not get miles is go home often, refuse to run at night, ##### about NYC, and not stay on your dispatcher while sitting (don't be annoying just ask for updates on loads every hour or 2) I did that and now see the same 7-9 customers and THAT'S IT. Always know where I stop, always know customers, never have iasues

    I have heard good things about Conway in the past. I don't want to make a mistake and except a job and then not be able to make a living. Thanks for your info. My information came from a relative that has a very close friend that her husband drives for Conway. I talked to him once about the company and he was telling me how good a company Conway was. I personally don't know him except to talk to him on the phone. I was really impressed. I am in my second week of school and have my learners CDL permit. So far it is a blast.

    I could afford to pay bills w/ my wife not working and w/ a son for 2 years BUT I came in w/ experience and from what I've heard of new hire no experience pay it will be a rough first few years. Starting pay at Conway is now like every other training company.

    Cant blame them but realize it going in, keep an open mind, a twisted/Good sense of humor helps and shoot for being positive attitude wise for 85% of the time. Take the lumps, keep your opinions to yourself w/ office staff and most drivers, and it should continue to be fun for you. Good luck and remember hug a truck don't hit one
