hehehe....well, there's a few friends of mine who learned a great and interesting thing. The government PAYS Schneider and other companies like JB Hunt and Swift to train new drivers. That's why the training is "free"...they just make you think you need to work for them for two years to "pay it back".
Truth is, if you get the training and your CDL...you can default after 6 months and never have to pay a dime for your training.
IF they take you to court (and I haven't heard of it) you have a pretty good defense that they have already been paid for the training and they're hoping to get double by charging you too.
Just got my cdl from the green bay schneider acadamy!

I WOULD NOT RECOMEND ANY TRUCKING COMPANIES FREE SCHOOLING !! I WOULD GO TO AN ACREDITED NATIONAL RECONIZED SCHOOL, simply due to the fact that no company can own your ##### for 2 yrs. secondly i would get everything in writing from suoervisor , terminal mgr. stating how many miles per week and cents per mile NOT PER DEIM? THEN I WOULD like to see the D.A.C. report done away with and go with a police report( if in an accident) I know people have to work for a living but to get screwed over by a company thats full of lies? based on what i have read here i dont trust too many com. im going to try a local small company before i go over the road with a big company!

Good Luck with that!

Well done.

So we're are in the middle of our first week on the road by ourselves and everything is going great. Ours loads average 2500 miles one way. It was well worth going there because we've both made enough money in one week to pay off our schooling and our regular bills.

hmm, unless you have something different with Schneider...you can't pay off their training faster. Its an 18month contract. For each paycheck, you pay them something like 15 bucks and they pay 50 towards it.

Just wondering if John Martin was still a instructor at Green Bay??
Watch out for the STL's, you will used to one
and then the next thing you know, after the 0 to 90 day period, you will get a new one who does thing differently.

Wow I'm going wih SNI if a set of teams can bring home more than $1,8000+ a week as newbies. Training is $900 each to pay off. Something sounds fishy here. Maybe SNI recruiter on here.

Hey good luck, seems like you've got everything all figured out.

for those who sign contracts (ie don't have their CDL prior to coming to Schneider) and who pay over an 18 month period their total obligation comes to about $900 with Schneider covering the rest.
One team I know of is making $1100 - $1200 per week (each) plus their quarterly bonus was almost $1900 (each). They have only been at the company for about 6 months. Not too bad right out of school.
