TAZZ has a fair point! It's the numpties that push it to the limit is the reason these things are being introduced! The problem is: we are using these things a long time and they just don't work, oh the work brilliantly for the mega hauliers who have plenty of trucks and can cover all their work and offer a reliable service , what are you gone do when some plant delays you half a day and can't collect that days load cos you're just about out of hours? The big guys will send another truck, what happens when this happens frequently? Will you be able to keep customers or will the cheaper more reliable mega carrier be a better option? believe me, it's the small operators and o/o who will suffer, I've been there, saw it happen, still have the scars from banging my head off the wall! Fines here can reach $20,000 on the spot for a few minutes over time anytime in the previous 12 months, mess with the box and depending which country it could be 2 years and a permenant record for fraud! Sound like liberty? Another point, when you run with these you are under alot of pressure to fill your allotted time, so you will drive tired, you have to fill it, it means getting home that week or not and for o/o it means getting enough mileage in a week, just being able to fudge 1 hour a day could mean up to 500 miles a week in revenue! Think about that!

CORRECT! Until you work with these things you won't appreciate how much of an intrusion on civil liberties they are! I'm the only one on this thread that can talk from experience

Oh I know how to get around an elog! Problem here is you can be caught on the flimsiest of evidence and get 2 years for you your trouble, not long ago on this very forum I was told this could never happen in America , unions/o/o's too strong would never happen there, don't think the same nazi brutality in which they are being implemented won't happen there! I'm reading on another thread how guys are getting fined for 6 minutes idling ! If u wanna know how to defeat these pm me, I'll only share it with who's commenting on this thread, would be stupid to make it general knowledge! You'll get away for a while but the authorities learn quickly when they get trained!

In the end, what're they gonna do? Transform the nation into a gigantic prison?
It is a fact that law enforcement agencies are abusing their power. The goons in uniform (not all of them) if they cant find something wrong with your truck and/or papers, they'll invent something just to show everybody how much power they have. They're accredited honors according to the number of citations they hand out, and if performing an arrest they get medals.....
It's a matter of time till they gonna fill the prisons with truckers that messed with the box just to keep from working only to pay the outrageous fines for the 3 minute violation on the HOS, or that downhill slope that took you 2.5 miles/h over the speed limit.......etc.
We're already seeing how this CSA crap works. They can't wait to write you up a citation, or the new gig is warnings, cause ya can't fight warnings in a cort of law, but warnings are treated as a conviction under CSA and it'll accumulate you enough points till you're out of a job or loose business, for the darnest of things, like a little pebble on the deck of your trailer, that probably landed there from the wheels of that pickup truck that just passed you.
How's this lousy CSA working for y'all???
Ya think that's gonna be any better with mandated EOBR's???

Yea man! It's amazing how they don't even wanna let you work without a million dictates and controls from the all mighty all knowing big government birocracies.
If you're a ditch digger ya gotta digg that ditch with a Government Aproved plastic shovel and a straw shovel handle because it's for your safety, don't you know, and thus illegal to use anything else...........you know, that shovel can be used as a weapon and what ya gonna do if it's made of steel and has a long wooden handle????
"listen to the government! Only Government knows better!"
