Well after spending the last 10 years working in various parts of the retail and customer service industry and getting laid off as a result of my former employer going under, I have decided to get into the Trucking industry. It's something that has always interested me and now seems as good a time as any.
I've opted for company sponsored training and have looked into Prime, Central, PAM, USA Truck, Swift and Schneider. Prime indicated they had better qualified candidates at the current time so it looks like I'll most likely be going with USA Truck via Driver Solutions at C1 in Indiana. From what I've read I know it's probably not the best choice but at this time I just want to get in the door and am willing to put my time in where necessary.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I've been reading these forums for the last few weeks and has definitely helped in aiding my research into this. Thanks.
Not sure about your area, but if you want to get in the door go with Schneider. They have several divisions to choose from to work in.
The less you have to hop from one company to another the better.
