East Lyme, CT, crash, I-95
Informative photo gallery at the Hartford Courant link above. The tanker tractor turned into a shredded nothing, its engine sitting in the middle of the highway. It was a miracle that spilled fuel did not ignite. Three people dead because apparently this guy was in a rush and was tailgating a 4-wheeler in the passing lane. -

. . .
Too bad it wasn't one of the spots where it was completely treed - then he wouldn't have crossed into oncoming traffic. What a mess! -
The guy driving the red tractor in the southbound lane, who got hit by the tanker crossing the median from the northbound lane, is alive but in the hospital. I just read about it this morning. From the newspaper photos it looked impossible. His pit bull passenger was not harmed. The tanker driver died, along with two car drivers he hit. There was a man who had a wheel and axle land on his roof just behind the front seats. I guess he was lucky.

I hope everyone says a prayer for these families and for the victims.
Thanks for the link. The pictures were horrible.
I just shouldn't look at things like that. I think if I lost my 'better half'/ 'life partner' I'd simply sit down and die. I can't imagine doing life without him. -
I see more and more semis tailgating every day, especially on I95. You would think, that is as far as humans are supposed to be the highest intellectual species on this planet - you would think that after seeing repetitive reports of this nature, these same dim-witted drivers who practice this treacherous behavior day in and day out, would get a clue but they dont!
