Money is great but drivers burn out fast. Most take the job thinking they are just gonna drive a tanker all day and that is it.Then they hit the lease roads, experience the H2S,and the lovely produced water and endless dust and just don't show up again, lol.Hell are yard has lost 4 this week alone.

Maybe not in the UK but that can certainly be had here in southern Oklahoma. Plains,Teppco(Now Enterprise)Parnon,High Sierra(formerly Interstate) the list goes on and on. Even the lazier drivers make 65k with full benefits.I am 46 and these companies have been around all my life even if by different names. I have hauled crude here for years and still am.

I worked for Plains for 3 years and averaged over $70,000 here at the house. They gave us a $3000 bonus 4 times a year and had every Friday and Saturday off. They have gotten many raises since. They are a very, very good company to work for. I bought my own truck is why I left but I should have stayed.

I had thought about going with them but have had enough of the oil fields, too many first time drivers and unlicensed drivers running around.I work nights and have too many close calls in the last 3 months.

For some reason kids these days believe that once they have that Class A they know everything and can drive anything.I drive for the love of it,not to become rich.If I can make a decent check I am good.If I am not happy with where I am I move on,so back to OTR I go.:biggrin_25520:

To those there or that worked there recently...How bad is it at Williston? Do you have to wait in line to eat at the cafes? I guess traffic in town is horrible? Is food, gas, etc really high there?

Thanks for the input guys, at least I have some companies that I had'nt heard of, guess I can google them & get some info & contact numbers.

Martin has a terminal in Chattanooga & I've been talk'n with them some, since they have some local runs I'm think'n of maybe haul'n crude for a while & then I have the semi local routes to run that will keep me closer to home.

That been'n said if a man can turn 70K a year & be home on weekends it would make it easy just to pull up stakes & move to wher the money is.

What's the full name of Plains of West Texas? I tried google, but all I got was a refer company out north Texas.
