Seems every center is different, Bonnie at Watkins says it is just bending and stretching. I have the Schneider test paper and it is squating and lifting 30 and 60 lbs. Front Carry 30 and 60 lbs 30 ft.
Throwing 30 lbs over your head, Crouch under a table, Step Up and Step down like from the back of the truck.

Floor to waist lift and waist to shoulder lift. Horizontal Pull 100 lbs, Horizontal Push 80 lbs

So I am waiting for Sal to tell us what his test was.
The place I go to is in Vegas on 5850 Polaris Ave. ste 100 I think. I will go next thursday. Loan docs do not go anyplace till you pass the testing and get your DOT card.

We will have the last class of the year. I think because it is the Christmas Class they give all of us a brand new truck

Sorry Arkie, if anyone gets a new truck it should be me. LOL We here in the Oct 22nd class have just finished week 2 and it was very interesting. I have talked to several of the 10 day orientation guys that came here already having a CDL. A few have stated how we got more driving time on the road in one week then they did in four. I can believe it. We have been on the road every day except for day one. (not counting Saturdays and Sundays). There are many surprizes that I would love to tell you about but it is better if you experience the fun after you arrive :) I will give you a hint though... "Do you like roller coasters?" LOL

Next week we are off on the student trip to SoCal. Hauling actual loads. Looking forward to that. Today (Saturday) I am going over to the local Papermill to back trailers around the yard over there. W/S has many trailers there that they pre-load so drivers can drop and hook. Students are invited to come practice backing. When you all get here be sure to practice every chance you get! Especially backing. A few of the students here still don't have it down and time is getting closer for the CDL test.

Raak .... sounds like everything is going well there. Your Okay( satisfied ) with the training, instructors and the whole setup at W/S ???
Say on the Montana's permit test , about how many questions were on that test? Do you go down to the DMV to take it or are they setup to give it at the school????:biggrin_2552:

I passed the DOT physical and agility test yesterday so I'll be showing up on the 25th.:biggrin_25521: Hope it stays warm up there through December:biggrin_25523: . Roller Coaster ? I hope Arkie doesn't scream going up and down those mountains. Well have fun you guys

I loved the Corkscrew at Knotts Berry Farm when I was younger.

Arkie your taking your test at the same place I took mine. Now that I see the address, I remember it was Polaris. Sounds like pretty much everything you described but I think it was 70lbs not 60.

    I'll take this one...

I, for one, couldn't be happier with my decision to come here, and I think Raak and JohnnyPage will agree.

It may seem to some, especially at the beginning, that things are kind of loosely structured. But you are shown something just when you need to know it and then given the opportunity to use it and practice it. I think it works well, and as Mike said in an earlier post, I think we are already better trained than most of the people that come in here from CDL schools.

The Montana CDL written tests were at the local Department of Justice office (beats me why the DOJ is over licensing here instead of DOT, but that's the way it is). The exams are the same length as they are in other states I believe. There's 70 questions on the General, 25 on air brakes, and 20 on combination vehicles. They have it on touch screens and you can take them all at once. If you don't pass one of the tests you have to wait until the next day, but you only have to retake the one you failed. you get three retests, I believe. After that you can continue to retake them, but you pay addtional fees.

You all take care, and good luck when you get here. Don't forget to turn your clocks back!!
