im not bashing, just to put that out there, but i tell the good and bad and thats exactly what happened to me. i was runnign my butt off non stop solo and training, and wasnt making enought after the truck (and i had a cheap pmt) to barely keep my cell on or eat every month. i quit when i did because i was about to lose my children to thier dad since i couldnt support them after all the time i was out there and couldnt get home enough. thats messed up! there are good things, you can view my posts, but there are not much. as a lease/op anyhow. l/o with kllm or stevens or someone else. they are way better and make SURE the drivers are taken care of. I had a student taken off my truck by the cops after telling england to get him off for 3 weeks and it finally came down to assult in pheonix after weeks of verbal abuse from him and other things. ON MY TRUCK! and england wanted me to keep him on and finish the load to houston. got off the phone and he got violent and i called the cops AGAIN and they sent him packing. I got swapped and went to UT and didnt hear a word from England til i got there and raised hell about it. i could have been a mental wreck...and they didnt care as long as they seen that truck moving......

I have never driven for CRE but then I never would, either. Anyone that promotes their company by

    Lease, Train, Drive

is not someone I want to work for. They want people to lease first? Then they train them to drive. If you don't have any experience of driving a truck, you sure as heck shouldn't be leasing one from a company first.

Just seems shady to me. Guess all the mega carriers do this, I imagine.

This is sad but so very true. I went to their "school" in Dallas and all I wanted to do was be a company/solo driver and get some experience. I wound up doing a 6-month demo lease and losing my rear end cause after my experience with one student, I was hell-bent on running solo. I felt like there was no way for me to help another driver when I didn't know what I was doing myself. I turned my truck in and walked away after weeks of negative or near-negative checks. They have their system in place and they are making millions off of it. It wasn't for me. Some people think England is great. Too many people fall into that trap of "being in business for yourself" when all you are is a company driver paying for the truck, insurance, and fuel pulling the same loads as a company driver. The biggest lesson I learned at England.... where there's smoke, there's fire. Thousands of negative reports on a company is a huge red flag. I think it would have beneficial to get training and drive for a company that did not push a lease onto new, inexperienced drivers. I know there are England lovers and haters and I'm not trying to start anything. Just reflecting on my experiences.

Well, I can't understand why anyone....especially a person new to trucking.....would even consider leasing a truck. From a major company, at that. And from what I understand, when you do these lease deals, you can't just treat the truck as yours. You have to use who they say on mechanic issues and other things. Then rely on them to give you the miles to not only make the payment, that I'm sure are outrageous, but also keep the truck moving where you can actually make money. I dunno...I may not be the smartest person around but I know I'd never get suckered into that type of contract.

I can see the reason a guy would...kinda. I'd love to own my own truck. Kinda do now, but only have a third stake in it. And I know I'm not ready for sole ownership yet. It's sure not buying a personal vehicle. lol
