well i dont know your financial situation but think of it like this. If you did run local at a lower rate and you didnt have all the extra expenses for life on the road like food and showers and just the lil nick nacks that we all pick up at the truckstops. Oh and all the stuff we buy to stock up our trucks with. You can divert that money back into your pocket to help cover the lower pay it might just even out. Food for thought my man. When your otr you are basically supporting 2 households your home and your truck which is your home away from home. Try to eleminate one household. If you really want to try and make it work with her this might be a way to do it.

i have no idea. they run around through the fields out by the airport but where they go is beyond me. i've never seen any type of work posted for any type of train. or container work. so i have no idea how one would find out if there was a job opening.
logan is 90 miles northwest of me. and so far, i've never been there to drop or pickup. closest i got to going to logan was that sign i was supposed to haul down to miami last year that got cancelled. -
unfortunately i just started with another company so i cant and i already quit trucking once to move home and could only find a job that didnt pay very much. i really appreciate the advice though. that will be my goal long term is to run local but also i dont have enough experience to get the local gig in norcal. so i hate to admit it but its pretty much over for good

look at the bright side. you don't have to worry about her and what she's doing.
first time i was on the road. i found out through the grapevine she was seeing someone else. i just played along. till she broke down crying becuase i never told her i loved her. and that she was seeing someone else.
i have learned that when it comes to women. it's a game of chess. and i don't play games.
i'll get involved here and there. but i don't open the door.
personally, a gf just gets in the way of my financial goals. one less person i have to spend money on. i want to retire in money in the bank. not broke becuase women love to spend money. -
HAHAHAHAHAHA you spend more eating a week then I spend in two weeks....well not counting my smokes.
