Student received pre-approval from Werner, wondering about other companies

Dude....if you are looking long term, don't look at Werner. And you don't have to go staight to OTR to "pay dues". You are gonna pay your dues no matter what type of trucking job you have.

But Werner is baaad bad!!! Look into Schneider...heck...look into Swift before Werner.. I don't know about Marten, but I'd have to say Werner should be at the bottom of your list...


P.S. I started with Werner and although I don't regret the 2 months of training, I do regret staying longer.

 

You have many options! Keep in mind that the recruiters at school get paid to send you to those mega-carriers so they really don't offer up any other options because they are getting paid to do so. Do your home work and think outside the box and you will be rewarded! You don't have to follow the herd! Your chances of success will be much greater if you go with a smaller carrier right out of the gate.

Here is a website that will give you a list of smaller carriers in your area. Check Craigslist too. They have some good jobs that post from time to time.
