Don't let me discourage you with my posts I was just tired of being turned down and needed to vent. Now that I have a job I say go for it although you will have some disapointments don't let it get to you like I did. I sure did raise a stir and got a lot of different opnions. Before I started school I thought I had all my research done but just goe;s to show you that you can never do enough. I think this industry is full of surprise's so go get your cdl.petesout

I am considering going to Roehl. One of the aspects I like is that, after the 3 week school and home time, you do 12-13 days with a trainer, then home time, then another 12-13 days with a trainer and you get your own truck. Some schools want you with a trainer for 8 weeks!!! Too long in a small space with the same person. It also makes you cheap labor.

Not necassarily. Although I would agree 8 weeks is a long time to be couped up in a truck with someone, as long as your out on the road driving and getting valuable seat time, it should hardly be considered cheap labor. Now if a trainer does all the driving and makes you unload the truck, well then yeah your getting screwed.

may sound like a long time - but it may be needed to get some up to speed...
I spent 3 weeks with an idiot when I was a student - had to figure out most everything on my own or rely on buddies from the indep. driving school i went to.
3 quality days with a good trainer are worth more than 8 weeks with a moron.
