Plains drivers have told me that they start at 80K to 80K per year for hauling oil. I imagine the variance is due to those who work more or less, but I don't know. I think they may pay more to work nights as well.

    Bunzie Thanks this.

I applied for a couple positions with them at the beginning of the year. They didn't hire me and it took over a month to receive the rejection notices. Don't expect a quick response. In the meantime, why not apply with other companies? There are plenty of companies hiring in the patch.

They are a hard company for a new inexperienced driver to get on with. Since the are one of the largest they have a huge number of experienced drivers applying daily. That does not mean you should give up, just be aware it will take time. I believe they only accept on line applications

That should have said 80-90K for Plains, sorry. Haliburton pretty much only takes aps online and yes they do get a lot of them since everyone knows Haliburton. There are lots of jobs here that pay you well enough that you can fund your own schooling. If you have only 1 yr of exp. then you probably aren't gonna make the top of a lot of lists. If you are working for Swift then pretty much any move you make will be a step up. I still get job offers at least every week, whether it's a driving job or others. There are LOTS of jobs in ND and that means lots of opportunity. But only if you are here. If you are trying to get hired from another state without being here then you will be severely limited in your options. The weathers nice right now if it has been a little hot lately. If you are thinking about coming I'd get here now so you can be situated by the time winter hits.

Beware of Commercial Truck Service out of Williston. They had a train wreck this Spring due to pushing drivers too hard. Be advised...
