License Suspended 4 times? Doubt anybody would touch you. You can call some recruiters to see what they have to say though.

 

Some of the citations may be off your record, you could check that. If so, then there shouldn't be any problems. However, you do like to bounce around job wise, so that would be a negative. Carriers want to hire people who will stay, at least long enough to get their investment back out of you. Good luck!

 

Your driving history and license suspensions show a history of poor judgement, not trying to be a dick here but it is what it is and that is not going to help you....Poor judgment in a 80000lbs vehicle is not a good thing..

However with the state of the industry now somebody somewhere will probably give you a chance, you need to find that company and make the most of it to gain some experience...

My advise would be goto college or trade school the trucking industry is in the toilet, but if trucking is what you really want best of luck.

 

My wife calls me a gypsy since I have changed jobs and locations so many times in the past. Companies are looking for stability in your jobs to show you are dependable, but you might be able to play your time in Iraq in that scenario and it might be overlooked.

The suspensions are a chance since some companies put on thier websites that they cannot be within the last 3-5 years so you might be in luck depending on which company you choose. Suspensions for insurance lapse is usually overlooked, they are looking for driving violations suspensions. That recent speeding ticket of Jan 2009 should come off your record in Jan 2013. Nothing is impossible you just have to look in the right places and don't give up just cause someone on here says you don't have a chance

Insurance suspensions aren't usually a huge obstacle, but companies will certainly want to know about them. Be very clear and forthright in reporting them and you ought not be impeded.

Your work history instability will be mitigated in the eyes of most employers by the service time (thank you for serving). Also, you weren't bouncing from Wendy's to 7/11 to Sizzler, you were working for police departments and prisons; places that do background checks and drug testing and are legitimate career-type employment.

If you're willing to suffer through a year of OTR Mega-Carrier Trainee life, you won't have too much of a problem. Once you get that year under your belt you should see some doors open up without too much trouble.

 

Jan '09 ticket would have dropped Jan '12. Should be gone because 3-prior years right now would be going back to July 6th of '09.

Most insurance companies only count the last 3, altho some go back 5, because people mature. Mistakes when you are 20 shouldn't count against you at 35.

So that's what I mean by "dropped".
