i worked with a company called summit logistics from TN... was a great company and good pay... ontil landair brought or merged... the contract the had in NJ went down 3 months after take over and i was forced to take a cut in pay or go on unemployment... they still owe me vacation pay and my safety pay they promised me....they suck and have no consideration for a driver..

I noticed a classified in my local paper about landair mentioning something about a dedicated route, home every night, 60k a year. Is this bogus?

I worked for Landair about 4 years ago. They are a terrible company! They lied to me to recruit me. Told me I would be I70 dedicated. Not one time did I see I70. I was on I95 from richmond, va to baltimore, md non stop. I was lucky to make $500 a week. The equipment sucked! I got stuck with a flat top freightshaker with the bed right against the seat, meaning no storage space. My dispatcher was a functional ###### at best. Anyone who goes to landair will not make a living. But that's just my experience.

On lunch today at a truck stop just south of Syracuse, NY, I spoke with a driver out of their local terminal and he told me he loved working there. $18 an hour to start and home every night. If that's your thing, for example if you have young kids and a family you want to watch grow up, he told me it was a good place to go. The drive I spoke with was VERY happy there. Personally I'm not looking for home every night. I'm trying to get as far away from MY family as I can for as long as I can. LOL. But that's just me.
