    I also have a lot of write offs. House, kid, daycare, private school, ira, etc etc. This isn't my first rodeo so to speak. I've been self employed for a majority of my adult life. Plus the amount I'm holding back is before per diem so that will change it to a higher percentage of my actual earnings that are put aside. Per diem alone will bring down my income about $15,000.

    I have been self employed for seven years and i owed once during that time and it was $9.00 other than that i get a refund every year

    By paying quarterly estimated tax and overpaying.

    As for the tag axle question I dont think many trucks have that setup. Motor depends on the year of the truck you choose.
