My advice: Go to a website such as classadrivers.com. Create an online resume/application, being honest about your suspensions/reasons (I had a no-insurance ticket at 20 and had a 30-day susp, and no one even cares about it), and when done, send it to everyone on the list. See who bites. Accept a job. Stick it out for a year or 2. Write your own ticket after that.

Your best bet would be to call around to some different companies and see what they have to say before you even sign up for school. The speeding ticket should be old enough by now so that shouldn't be a problem. Not sure about the suspensions. Sometimes if your license is just suspended for little stuff like expired license, insurance gap etc... then they let that slide. Its the insurance companies that are going to be mainly looking at this and stuff like that shouldn't matter to them. They are interested in DUI's, speeding, accidents, reckless etc... Being in the armed forces will most likely help you. Also being a police officer will probably be good on your record too.

Like I said, you won't know until you start calling around. Be upfront and honest about everything so that you will get a truthful answer. Also if you are going to be going through company schooling you are more apt to get a straight answer since they will be essentially hiring you.

    Good luck man....

Write your own ticket; in the trucking industry? Oh stop! Stay out of the business and go back to school, something, anything but trucking!

There lies my problem. I have gone to school using my GI Bill. I'm a math course away from having a 4-year degree under my belt (#### you, college algebra!). I've applied to all sorts of jobs - and never get called back, except for federal jobs that want me to relocate, which I am tired of doing. I couldn't even get hired at Tim Horton's once I said that I've never operated a cash register, but I'm willing to learn. I'm sick of working in prison but if things go south there I need to be able to be a provider for my family, and even at a low starting wage trucking seems to be something I could step right into if I'm willing to sign a contract or put myself through a school.

I'm just trying to keep my options open.
