Step 1. Plan your route well.
Know exactly where you are going. What I like to do is open your rand to the map of the US in the front.
Find the place you are starting and the place you are going. Then find the big roads that are the most direct route to that location.
Once you have an idea, then you can start your actual routing.
You will want to know about where you can get to by the end of the first day. This will be hard due to load times. Plan for 2 hours, unless it is a drop and hook. Look for a location around 500 miles out. Then go to another book you need. A pocket truckstop guide. They cost about 5 bucks. List every interstate by state and mile marker.
Most states the mile markers are the same as the exits. Only a few in the Northeast are not. This helps allot in planning.

I do this for every day and every run. I want to have a goal in sight. Sometimes I will plan 3 places I can stop, depending on how long it takes to load. And how I feel. If I get tired I stop at an early one. If not I go to the farthest one.
Parking is at a premium in the eastern half of the US. This needs to be including in your plan. You cannot plan to find a place to park at 2100-0000 in the eastern US. You can find parking in most areas before 2100. And after 0100 some will open up.

Ok, to much info. sorry. lol

your truckstops are hesperia, south of victorville, barstow, nev/cali state line, ta just south of vegas, petro and 2 others on north side of vegas. plus valley of fire at mm 75. then you've got nothing till the flying j inside utah. then cedar city, parowan, and beaver. one you get on the 70, there's a j but don't look very big. you've got green river. then a couple inside colorado before you get to grand junction. after that you're up a creek till denver.

i like to eat at the restaurant in hesperia south of victorville. next to the truckstop. cali/nev stateline has a decent restaurant. west side of 15. petro north of vegas. valley of fire. sometimes i stop at the TA in barstow. the one in parowan utah has lotsa parking buyt only subway and taco bell for food. in beaver, i stop at mcdonalds for bfast. and across the street is a chinese restaurant i took jj and jess to once. at the j is a wendys. then the struckstop just before you get to grand junction. after that i couldn't tell you till denver. i have the app on my phone. but i have yet to see the other listings off the freeway in colorado.

eat during the day. cuz they all close at night for the most part.

there's a few miles between for the most part. you've got two rest areas inside cali. two truck parkings after vegas. two utah rest areas before the 70. one on the 70. there's probably 3 in colorado. 2 are on top of the two mountain passes.

northbound vegas checkpoint has no bypass. all trucks must pull in. they are daytime week day hours. utah state line port 24/7, then two in colorado. also 24/7 one just inside the state line. the last on the downhill into denver.

at your rate of speed. you can figure 2 full shifts just for the journey. load and unload on the 3rd day. then 2 full shifts back. so basically 5 days for one trip.

cali has two long climbs, utah is uphill from state line to the first rest area mm 42 i believe. 70 has some good climbs. specially the two passes into denver.

    anything else you wanna know?????:biggrin_25519:
