In California we can. As long as I don't leave the state it's 12 & 16, not 11 & 14. Maybe PA has something similar?

Where does it say you have to log half hr for your pretrip or post trip. I have never logged more than 15 mins for either one and dot has never ever said anything about it. If your logging half hr for each you just killed off a xtra half hr you could be doing something else.

I log 15 min pre trip & 15 min post trip. OP it sounds like you would fall under the 11, 14, & 70 hr rules. As it has been explained to me use Sleeper berth for time in the sleeper ONLY. Off Duty is time spent away from the truck ie eating, taking a shower, using the restroom, etc. You must have at least 7 days worth of logs w/ you in the truck at all times for DOT to see if they ask. You must also have your log current to the most recent duty status change, ie you stop to eat @ 11:30 and are down from 11:30 to 12:15, you need to show that you went back driving @ 12:15.

Please show us that regulation. I have yet to see or read it.
And the NEW HOS regulations don't go into effect for another year. So stop trying to bring them in now. It just confuses an already muddy and difficult situation. -

WOW, is there a lot of disinformation in this thread!

The more I read about HOS rules, the more confused I get. I'll bet the people who wrote them don't understand them
