Anybody else like me that thinks the modern looking Aero Trucks look good like a Ferrari or a Corvette compared to those big long hood antique trucks are like comparing those sleek aerodynamic fast sports cars to a model "T" ford antique?
Besides why spend between $15,000 and $30,000 more in fuel a year to have some chrome antique truck?

I still like the hoods and the styling of the older trucks. It is getting more like these new aero trucks are beginning to look alike. Some people prefer to have something that doesn't look like every other truck on the road. My trucks are more aerodynamic, but that is more for business reasons. I do get better fuel mileage than some of the hoods, but I still like to look at them. I have fond memories of the hoods and older style trucks. Drivers still are the primarly reason for getting good or poor fuel mileage.

Absolutely! I love to have 3/4 of my engine stuffed under the dash! I also love the heavy high maintenance plastic junk hanging off the sides. I'm just worried that I'll have to mess with several more bank accounts to handle all the extra money I'll be making. That being said I think I'll keep my 6.5-7 mpg "antiques".Les2, 112racing, Licensed to kill and 8 others Thank this.

you make enough per mile fuel cost no problem

Give me a old war horse before a Tonka Toy, those new trucks are in the shop so much that is why when people dump them they are low mileage trucks.

I'm with you dice1...but you posted this on the OO forum. Most OO liek the old style, long tall hoods, lots of crome, huge air canisters, strait up windows, huge visors.
IMO, the aerodynamic trucks are newer, have better mileage, are more comfortable, turn tighter, and have better visibility. I could care less about looks, i care about performance. New aero trucks get better mileage. Since fuel is one of the biggest cost....better millage means more money. Most OO would rather show up in something shiny with to much crome though and make a little less. If I did care about looks, I do think the aero look is more space ages, futuristic looking. I'm also 24 years old. Older truckers have a different opinion.
I currently drive a pete 379 (not my first choice) and it does stand out in a crowd of freightliners. It stands out like an old car, not something you want to commute in everyday, but it sure does look nice. The new car's ride is a lot better and more comfy, but the old car is still fun to drive. IMO its not fun to drive on a daily basis.
