Yes. They're fine, thank you for asking...

She hadn't pulled out into the intersection on HER GREEN LIGHT before checking the intersection.
Thank God she did. Some people don't. Light goes green they hit the gas. That would have been very bad for that kind of person.

Try driving through the Oklahoma panhandle. They WILL give you a ticket for doing 1 mph over the limit. My aunt has a 61 mph in a 60 ticket from Hooker, OK to prove it.

Back when Texas had the 60 day/55 night truck speed limit, the DPS was almost as bad.

It's not just warning the lawbreakers, I've seen plenty of officers suddenly take off after somebody and pull out right in front of me, especially local cops. It's nice to have a heads up so you can be prepared for the eventual Dudley Doright with no common sense.

Well it doesnt just have to do with speeding, also allows you to know that they are there any trooper can pull you over and do a level 2 or 3 inspection, amoung other things. As for your justification. Well Years ago I was driving with an unmarked behind me, I was legal and fine, but the ####### in the red pickup truck that turned right in front of me wasnt. Torn the front right off that shiney new 83 chevy motor and all. #### happens you may get into a bender at any time not your fault #### happens. Most of the time most truckers are doing within the speed limit, but there are other things that may have been overlook on a pretrip, or happened inroute that havent been fixed that may net a driver an OOS and a hefty fine. But hey do what you want. Kinda nice to bait the bears once in a while with the dumb ### who is riding bumpers and cutting off rigs. Need to know where the bears are to set the trap.

key word there noobie is "almost".thankfully nothing happened but you can't tell us that you never crossed the center line or drove over the line as you were reading a text from that wife and/or sons.
no need to hold that one "almost" incident against all drivers out there.reeks of noobie and passed down from a trainer stuff.

you could very well be driving at your 62 mph and blow a cap, sending the carcass airborn across 3 lanes and into the windsheild of another driver's family. yeah those donuts can travel. accidents are unintentional hence they are labeled as accidents.

truth be known, you are just scared to key up and give a bear report because you live in fear of that bear getting you for excercising your 1st amendment right.j/k. or you don't have a radio to give a bear report with.

not a good parallel to draw for not giving the report on the radio driver.it could very well be you needing to know because none of us drive 100% legal,100% of the time.not even you.besides.flashing your lights could mean an accident is ahead which a good alert for others headed toward that spot and bears will most likely be there.I just think you are being short sighted.overlook my sarcasm.i'm full of it today.

Yep. I have crossed the center or made mistakes. Never said I didn't.

The story I told was a quick example. I didn't feel like spending a lot of time on the key board. Ok? :)

I believe it would also take a certain kind of individual that wouldn't key up to let truckers know that there is a LEO sitting somewhere. A certain kind of individual that doesn't need approval or a "feel good/pat on the back moment" or feeling like he "done something" by "keying up" ;)

You're sarcasm is assuredly, over looked - you have a GREAT, safe day as well, driver

Well all I am going to add to this great debate is " Your driving down Iwhatever, speed limit is 65, you come up to a truck thats doing 63, you pull out to pass put the hammer down, to get past as quickly and safely as possible to clear the hammer lane for others. Hidden behind the bush ahead is a bear with a camera. You may be paying a ticket, where you may have waited or passed sooner had you known the bear was there. Then again if your are one of these dumb ##### who pass attempting to stay in the speed limit and take 15 miles to pass, you dont need to know where the bear is, you need some brains.

B.S. If the speed limit is 65 and I am doing 65, why do I even care about clearing the hammer lane for others? I'm doing the maximum speed allowed. If someone behind me wants to go faster, that means they are wanting to break the law and it sure isn't up to me to assist someone else break the law.

your reply indicates that you are indeed that "certain kind of individual". ride that high horse with your <less than 1 year attitude. eventually you will need another driver to assist you in some form or fashion and that help will be there. I doubt that you'll recall your arrogance here because you were only taught to hold that steering wheel and not actually become a driver during truck driving school.

steering wheel holders define trucking as of late and it is no wonder that there are eobr and elogs.the indoctrination is under way.

It is illegal to have a radar detector in a CMV.

This is straight from the FMCSA website.

I've already needed assistance from other drivers. And I have also already assisted other drivers. Yes, all in <1year. Gotta start SOMETIME. eh?

I'm not being arrogant. I'm refusing to potentially HELP someone who could be very well driving beyond what they SHOULD be driving, by giving them a heads up about LE.

I'm really trying to look deeper in this as to why you have such an issue with me being this way.
It's not like I'm asking for someone to do it to me. No...I'm in the same boat as anyone else out there on the road.

I would say, knowing that what I would really say would only land me several "*'s", that all of the "JERKS" in "trucking" that I see doing stupid crap on the road every day, DEFINE trucking.

Or, I could say, that not ONCE that I have actually met, face to face, another driver in my daily life, have I ever thought them to be a jerk. Nor, one of those other words that would only show as "*'s" here.
    These men, IMO, define trucking.

To address your statement about what I "indicate", I can only chuckle, and say that believe what you will.

Oh, almost forgot, by your eobr and elog comment, are you suggesting that it's also OK to run multiple log books (which, elogs sorta circumvents)? (aka, "outlaw")?

And, finally, yes sir, I am also well aware of all the indoctrination that exists in this country.
But perhaps that is better left for the political forum :)

    drive on
