I went back to Swift from Trans Am and I'm already sick of these idiots.

Why would someone drive 2 years without AC? It's 2012. You can get that fixed. It's been over 100 degrees in most of the US. To not have AC is crazy. Take the cowboy hat off Tex. You're not impressing anyone.

Not to be mean or nothing but if you run that long with out a/c I would take the cab hoses off the heater for you and let you run free.

When your sittin in PHX AZ in the middle of July with no AC, 115 degree heat. Your no less of a man cause you dont have ac, your just an idiot. Its not only dangerous but un healthy. Id have to say your less of a man for not asking (the man) to fix the truck. By the way this story you posted may have been acceptable in the 30's although these days it's a law suit or death sentence waiting to happen.

I'm goin' out on a limb here, but I'm thinkin' that Truckermario will continue to be disappointed
with any of the Big truck truckin' companies until he figures out what the problem really is
    and corrects it.

    Good luck Mario.

The good side about Swift is they promise new trucks, bad side is you won't see one until 4 or 5 years with them, plus $500 a week is pretty wimpy when you get few miles and have to pay for road expense's.

easy to say in Michigan. Try no a/c like down here in NC when its over 100 everyday or out in AZ where it pegs over 120. You can't sleep in a truck in temps like that with no a/c. My a/c down here went out in Nov of last fall. Didn't worry about it much over the winter and the mechanic said he would fix it come spring when I needed it and I was ok with that. First day over 80 my truck was parked and didn't move till it was fixed. The Mechanic put me in a back-up rig and had the a/c fixed in a couple of days. Driving without a/c is just flat stupid and if you put up with it..well...stupid is as stupid does.

Yeah thanks. Maybe some of the problem is perspective? I dunno. Anyway. I'm here at Celadon, now. I think I'll make this one stick for a while until I can find a smaller company or own my own truck and can pick my own loads and when to go home.

I worked for an outfit that wouldn't fix anything, AC was the least of my worries when I jumped into a truck. 110f and I don't think they had more then a couple of trucks with AC, they would just tell you to role the windows down.

I honestly can't remember driving a set that would have made it through a scale house, I didn't work there very long.

I read a story of a trucker in 1930 who had to strap a wooden block to his fuel pedal why?because his floorpan would get so hot during the summer...his boot sole would start melting to the floor.... Heck had that problem with old B Model Macks in the mid 1970's hauling in / out of NYC at the time , no A/C in those beasts.
