Just don't wear shorts while you tarp it. Learned that one the hard way.
-
umm nope wont have mats...I yank reefers around for a different company....we generally haul mostly food products...with an occasional dry box load...(I have hauled finished paper before with current company...but again no mats) when I did work for Roehl and got rubber mats I turned a couple into floor mats....the rest i just tossed....
On another note it looks like Roehl bought some more t660s I am sitting accross from one in bloomsbury PA and it must be new cause it doesn't have a plate yet and its got all the collision avoidance BS....(Not to mention some ugly hood mirrors).... -
Yeah the collision crap sucks sometimes. I know the ones on the freightliners and kenworths are horrible but my prostar has the one made by Bendix and not Eaton. Its definitely laid back on my system. Only time it kicks in is on cruise.
I was thinking about leasing a t660 if they'd set it up with a 500 horse cummins, 13 speed, flat top sleeper, and headache rack.
Ethan -
He better get that sucker plated. One of my students got a big ### fine for not having plates on his new prostar.

As for the wool, I wore pants. But I'm apparently allergic to whatever they use in that chemical. Been crappy past day or so with itching. (3 showers in a total of like 30 hours..)
How can he get fined? You can run trailers and tractors without licenses plates using a temp registration. Roehl has a period in which the truck HAS to be played by but they can extend the temp for a additional 30 days. Now if he was running with a expired temp registration then yeah that does suck.
Idk if Roehl would even back him up on that. "proper pretrip means checking all documents every day." no how about you tell the drivers, specially the new ones, that the truck doesn't have a tag and is on temp registration.
Want to know how I found out I didn't have a tag when I got my new cascadia? When I was getting my overweight citation the cop brought it up.
Also.. I know you can runs trailer without a licenses plate aslong as you have a registration. Idk how long that would fly but Roehl has made me do it countless number of times. Since I started flatbed I haven't had any trailer issues yet.
Now to the fun part!!! Ceiling tile! Wow. Enough said.
When I picked that load of wool up it caused me to be nose heavy so I took it easy on fuel. Filled up like 50 gallons in Gary to keep me just above half a tank. Well I got running behind because of the wool flying out all over the darn place from one of my nice Roehl approved bungees breaking and the top part where both lumbers meet decided to dip down into a gap between the wool bales so the back one came out from under the front one at the top.
I had to disconnect from the trailer and nose my truck over to the side and climb on the hood which I will never recommend anyone over 150 pounds to do. Took my cheater pipe and busted up some of the wool to get the tarp back over it. After that 40 minute delay I got back out on the road. Was aiming for certianteed but those back roads are slow. Ended up in iron mountain which was my first time there.
Iron mountain is a freaking ghost town on the weekend. I mean it was only me until late late late that night when a van guy came in.
So I wake up early get up to the consignee and I'm also picking up this load from them. So I send my empty call and I marked Yes for dropped trailer No for pick up trailer.
Couple minutes go by and I get my next load assignment but low and behold computer can't generate a fuel route. Sent in a freeform saying to fix. Ended up calling from shippers phone since I had no signal. Explained to them the issue they said they will find a fuel stop. As soon as I walk back to my truck I hear you have a new message.
Guess what it says, "Use your truck stop guide."................ No really? I already looked... So I sent in a smart-#### response and they tell me to fuel up at iron mountain. I have less than 25 gallons of fuel.. I'm not making it but I just sent in "ok. I'll give it a shot. I'll probs run out of fuel but I'll give it a shot."
Get back "if you see a fuel stop along the way get 50 gals." ok.
I know most of you know there is a marathon and a citgo but it was so early all I had my mind on was getting there so I didn't see them. After all that fun times talking to them I send my load confirmation, arrived and loaded. Now I marked that I'm picking up but not dropping a trailer. This time.
Well holy crap. I get back a error message saying it's required then instantly a message asking why I bob tailed... Wow. Screw it I drove off and when I found a marathon I fueled up and had signal so I called.. At first the guy had a hard time getting that I delivered to the same place I picked up. After 3rd time of explaining it, it sank in to his head.
Haha ain't nothin easy! Though US-2 is a very nice drive!! In grayling MI off I75 exit 251 at a marathon truck stop. Another Roehl driver knocked on my door and reminded me that I left my lights on. < APU = best thing ever invented since Doritos taco. -
We are in Waddy KY... Delivering in Winchester KY in the am.
-
What did you have on the back of the trailer? I asked Chris and he didn't know what it was.
-
At the TA in the Whitsett, NC. I started out the day with 9.5 hours but with a detour on US-35 and having to run that crooked and hilly *** 77 I rolled in here with 5 munutes left on my 70. I will be delivering at 0700 in Oxford. I already have a pre plan to get me back into Ohio. I have an appt at 1600 to pick up in Mocksville, NC and I will be relaying it to the Dayton dropyard. Hopefully after I will be headed to Mogadore for some hometime.

At a service place in WV. Light load so just cruised from NC and SC. Deliver in Columbus OH Tuesday so nice lax day tomorrow getting the rest of the way there. Went to the rest area at first didn't have signal, so left went to 1st turnpike plaza didn't have signal there either so left and got here with 30 minutes to spare with full 3g so I'm happy.
