Blown tire: how far do you think I can drive?

Technically no, a blown tire is not dangerous. How you drive the vehicle with the blown tire is dangerous. You did say that keeping the vehicle under control at high speeds was hard.

It's easier to lose control of the vehicle with a blown tire, which is why you are allowed to go to the nearest parking haven and that's it. No further. 60mph is still too fast. I would have kept it at 45.

If that other tire blew while you were at 60mph, I doubt you would be able to retain control of the truck.

 

I once ran over a bunch of railroad spikes that were out in the interstate (I-10 just west of Buckeye T/A) and blew my driver steer tire, put a gash on the sidewall of the passenger steer, and blew my driver front super single, as well as both tires of the driver side front axle on the trailer.

I didn't lose control at all. In fact, for the first couple of seconds, I didn't even notice anything was wrong because I had my headphones on and was watching my new TV. I noticed sparks from the left front of the truck, so I pulled over to assess the damage, and finally after about 4 minutes of personal debate I said to heck with it, and hit the trail. I ended up driving all the way to Blythe, which IIRC was about 100 miles or so. Really the only challenge was keeping the truck in my lane due to the left steer tire being disentigrated, I was rolling on the wheel which gave little to no traction making it hard to fight the wind.

 

This comming from someone experienced in rim riding? Have you ever lost both tires on a axle (a flat tire or a tire loosing air doesn't count) -- at 60 mph and not from a dead stop? I doubt it, because you wouldn't be making such accusations.

A set of duals at 60mph? Yes, it's quite possible. You said it yourself that the vehicle was hard enough to control even with one tire gone -- your words, not mine.
Also, what I do for a living isn't relevant for this thread. I left that field blank for a reason. You're the one who broke the law willingly and boasted about it on a online forum, not me.

I'll tell you what. Why don't you call your local PD and ask them to lay out spike strips in front of the trailer as you're driving down the highway? Oh, and hold a 60mph speed after running over the spike strips. I'll be standing by with my "I told you so" line after the trailer fishtails everywhere causing you to jacknife.

and I don't go past the next get off ramp, with a flat. was pulled over and given a verbal warning ,in SC a few yrs back. was dragging a rail container and it was blowing chunks , that put a nice black streak on a troopers windshield. he wasn't happy. oops. imagine if it had been a guy a motorcycle or some little old lady. crap happens and I don't want it to be my fault.
