I am thinking that 9 years does not qualify you as an 'ole timer,the ignorant portion is up for debate. I am an 'ole timer and may qualify as ignorant from time to time but that ignorance is not applicable regarding knowing how to get miles.

again my dislike of elogs has nothing to do with running illegal or skirting the law.You can not tell us that elogs have always worked in your favor and that they always will.that 3.2k that you ran consistently was always under PRIME operating conditions,you lived in that truck for weeks at a time, and that it did not last long because truck driving is never smooth and consistent 100% of the time.That is a farce.

you also typed that you did run 3.2k consistently,as in past tense.Things and situations have a habit of changing driving a truck whether elogging or not.your situation obviously changed.

 

Do you run 100% legal eveytime? I've posted my mileage in my thread I could consistently do 3k a week but I choose to be home every weekend and Im on elogs to boot.

 

This I'll agree with. Time and time again I've seen people swear by elogs and then wonder why they got a OOS log violation at the scalehouse.

With a elog you cannot be 100% legal at all times as a elog doesn't flag everything. It only flags HOS violations. It doesn't flag others. Also, the provisional is fairly easy to calculate once you've done it enough times.

No I'm not attempting to argue. We are actually on the same page, you just pointed your finger at the wrong thing. I drove with elogs and without them. There is no real benefit to them if you understand the HOS regs.

Yes, I am liberal (good catch); but I do feel that SOME government regulation is a necessary evil.

 

But the HOS regs are the same, always have been.

 

To call a driver lazy because he or she is on e-logs proves you have no idea what you're talking about. You really don't. If you have an e-log you have to work. You can't screw off. If you are a screw up, you'll never make a delivery on time. And you'll be out of a job. Such a weak mind you have.

Yeah, I can see the use of elogs for certain situations -- but I don't need a computer to tell me when to take a restroom break. It's a truck, not a prison cell.
