The Railroads:
Trucking industry can thank the railroads for the reduction in long haul! That's about all I see going to/from CA with ONLY trlrs/ocean containers on them. And the local commercial we get here from Union Pacific, "Doing our part in getting trucks off the road!' The RR industry isnt suffering during this 'trucking freight industry slow down----wonder why?!! Saw a special on THC about the RR industry and how they have modernized/streamlined it---very impressive!! Have their own 'hwy' coming out of L.A. area (open but below ground, concrete walls all around it!!) bypassing the L.A. freeways!! Also computer controlled separation/adding to 100+ car train 'loads', weighed, & maintenance monitored systems in the big rail yards in the midwest.
Get ready fleet drivers, just like J.B Hunt and some others, 'driving' will be shuttling trlrs/containers to railheads from terminals and back---can someone say 'taxi?'

If it means getting local job at local, prevailing wage rates, then I'm for it.
I'd rather be home every night and making 18-20/hr than what Im making now on a sliding cpm scale.
