best i remember, you can change a few things in a galaxy and you can get partial 12 meter coverage. not worth the headache though. someone also tried that with a uniden hr2510 and the mixer became unstable and unpredictable.

If so they did not readjust things correctly. Plus it's better to Chipswitch the 2510 first. Then realign. For the other just change the 14.01 MHZ crystal (or whatever depending upon model and year) and realign. Either works fine if you do them correctly.

I prefer the Connex CX 4300-300, and the reason why I say this, because I have one. Get ready to spend some cash on one of these. Your looking a ballpark figure between 500-700 dollars for one of these bad boys. Considering, we are talking about CB radios. The only good Galaxy CB radios are the Galaxy 44, and the Galaxy 88. The newer version of Galaxy such as the DX959, etc., do not have the power as the one's mentioned here. Finding one of these radios will be expensive, but well worth it. A good set up for Connex such as the one mentioned above. Preferably, I would recommend the Astatic mic with an astatic cord, and run only 1 monkey made antenna, with some 8mm coax, and get a 25 watt external speaker to go with it.

Have a box with about a dozen, a mix of 2510, 2600, and Lincoln. I like the multi colored buttons best for some weird reason. Think I'll take one out and play with it today, been a while. Will have to go out and dig in my hot storage area. Stop hypnotizing me into doing work with your pictures.
