The only trucks I saw were on the far east side along the fence next to the empties. And the ones in a row facing the shop. I figured the ones in the row were available. Was I wrong?

I know people get frustrated when they ask what is starting pay here. Reason we say it's based on experience is because pay is based on that, what division you work, OTR/Regional/Dedicated, etc. It can be between .33/mile to .44/mile, salary per day, salary per week, hourly, etc. LinkAmerica has many divisions and dedicated accounts. Example Anj is LinkAmerica Express and runs SE. I'm LinkAmerica Interstate and run entire covered area. I think Big Brah might be LinkAmerica dedicated.
What I'm getting at is it really depends on what fleet you are on and where your lanes are. You could be Link Express, Interstate Express, Link Dedicated, Lane, James Hardy, DGI (HAZMAT & Inermodal), Link Pump and Vacuum, Link Maintenance, Link Corporate, there are different ones and they all pay different because of the work involved, lanes, freight hauled, etc.
I just saw in a few threads about people getting upset about us giving that answer all the time. I hope that clears some things up on why we reply with pay being based on experience. All of our pay is different, but so are the fleets we're on. Thanks.Last edited: Jul 10, 2012
tl385 Thanks this. -
What frustrated me was no one took the time to say all of this and get it out in the open before now. When I asked about pay, I wasn't looking for an exact number. I was looking for a range. The bottom, versus the cap. And how much you're gonna get if you're part of division A or B and you only have a year, how much for two years, three years, five years, ten years, etc etc and so forth. It's ok if no one knows those answers. When people start saying "it's based on your experience" then you're gonna have people saying "Well, I have X number of years, how much do they pay for that?" And that was my problem. I finally came right out and asked my recruiter just so I could get an answer, which I should have done from the start.

If Link has some kind of chart printed on paper that lists the pay rates, I'll post it on here. If it's posted on a wall somewhere or written on a board or something, I'll make a chart, scan it, and post it. So much easier to just look at a chart than to ask 30 different people.

Well tomorrow is orientation. Guess I better start preparing.

I understand Act. I was frustrated when I asked as well and had to do the same thing. It's just difficult to get a pay range without knowing all the divisions and such. I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I'm just trying to explain my answer is all.
