I started the day south of Louisville, KY and delivered in Juliet, IL in the early afternoon. Got a load out of Elwood, IL going to Cheyenne, WY. I got into Iowa and shut down just east of Des Moines. I should make Cheyenne by 0900 Thursday morning and then a quick 2 hour drive and I'm home in Denver until Monday!:biggrin_25517:

Just off a 10-day break (stayed out 54 days to earn it) and started off by going to Baltimore, MD this morning where I picked up a load of lumber. 2/3 of it went to another Baltimore location 10 miles away (an auction facility). The remainder (3 pallets) goes to Fayetteville, NC where I am now: at the consignee (a window manufacturer), ready for a promised 0600 unload in the morning. Made it here with 7 mins left on my 14.

The shipper told me this lumber has been sitting at their place for over 2 years and they are very happy to get rid of it. The warehouse was mostly full of an enormous quantity of beer kegs, bottles, and cans.

Already have a preplan to pickup in Bennettsville, SC tomorrow and deliver to Millersburg, OH (SW of Akron) on Thursday. I have been to Bennettsville one time before and was fortunate to not have a long wait. However, I hear horror stories from other drivers about waiting to be loaded. We'll see what happens...

Ok question for van drivers. I'm going to be pulling a van tomorrow. What are the requirements for in-route vehicle checks when pulling a van? Flatbed you have to stop every 150 miles or 3 hours whichever comes first. Is this required pulling vans?

I think with a van you van you can run 11 straight with no stops. When I was in van I went 4-5 hours between breaks

If it is not sealed, you are required to check the cargo and securement.

    Or.

You could do nothing and say you did.

Get to the cons and wonder why your missing 3 trailer tires, a mudflap, and maybe even a rim or two.

But in all reality a pre trip and your good to go. Plus like Mic and DrtyD said just look our your mirrors and check on the tires. The only time to worry is when you go to check your mirrors and realize your bobtailing.

Had to pick up 4 coils in Detroit pretty late. Placed forced me out the door after they loaded them and everyone left. Nice feeling.. Being alone in detroit when it's getting dark. But you know what I'll pull out some sick ninja moves like karate kid, they wont know what coming!

As I survived that experience I made it down to a TA in MI. I75 exit 15. I took the last spot as this driver tried to steal it from me. He got out and told me to move and I laughed. Told him he's cool for trying to take a spot I was setting up for, next time be quicker. Then I rolled up my window all cool like.
