Well on the new highway bill they have a mandate for elog. I myself believe when it become the law of the land it will become one big game changing Day for trucking.
I'm looking forward to the day it becomes law. That way it puts all the companies on a level playing field.
As far as running the US and state routes. When I am running the central states account that's all I drive on. Just this week I ran 450 and a 490 miles a day and made five and six stops per day to unload. You just need to know which roads are the good ones and that comes with experience. And I very rarely drive over 57 mile an hour.
And with the CSA I see it happening already your bottom of the barrel drivers and trucking companies are slowly disappearing. Which is a great.

I guess this will be good for those of us who are already experienced with the EOBR's, we are going to be light-years ahead of those who have been holding out on them, huh?sewerman Thanks this. -

Heads up! The Dixie t/s in Mclean,IL is being remodeled. Only the restaraunt is open and they have portable johns in an air conditioned trailer. I hadnt been by here in awhile but its one of my favorite haunts as I know it is for some other Mav's
-
According to the waitress the remodel will be another 6-7 weeks maybe? She said Pilot/Road Ranger bought out the travel store/fuel side of things but restaraunt still has an 8yr lease.
sewerman Thanks this. -
Went by there today. Looks like they enlarged the parking area also.

Well once Pilot takes it over, it will be just another Pilot....(full by dark) Too many mom and pops closing up.

On my way to the fort I came up on a one lane construction zone with a care bear. Of course some moron passed the merge sign AND the care bear who had his lights on btw and just kept goin intent in going right to the front if the line before merging. Well ol' smokey wasnt havin any of that and pulled him over. Made my night lol.

I don't know why, but that story has my mind singing church hymns.
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
