Stevens Transport aviary

I applied before and I talked to a recruiter. She told me that I will have to go through a school here in Florida to get accepted for training. I told her ok and that I will go to school here in Orlando at Roadmaster and she told me to call her back after I'am done with the school

 

When you are finished with training, you will be assigned whatever is convenient for the company. Some drivers get new trucks but most new drivers get 'used' trucks. A used truck at Stevens is usually one with 250,000 miles or less.
Up until now, the most common truck for Stevens has been the T700. They have opted to replace the 700's and 660's with the new 680. Presently there are 500 680's on order, with the first ones scheduled to arrive about August 1.
There is a corresponding model from Pete that will replace the Petes in the fleet. I'm just not familiar with the Pete numbers.

 

O2 uses both Trainee to Trainee and 02 trainers. How it's determined is a mystery.

 

I also heard that all Stevens trucks are governed at 62mph, is that the fastest you can travel on their equipments?

 

yes you are limited to 62 mph at stevens.

 

I will be there in the AM, I was hoping to be there tonight, but WalMart is taking forever to unload me of course.

 

That will be fine with me the last Otr truck I had was a gmc cabover so this will be an improvement Lol

 

The new 680's are they gonna be auto's or manual? And will they come fully equipped with monitor, fridge etc. or they gonna choose not to have the extras

 

Stevens will be staying with manual transmissions, they are lighter, weight wise, and hauling meat and produce, every pound can become critical. No you will get a fleet spec truck, no extras. Stevens does install tri pac apu's on all trucks, which come with a 2000 watt inverter so you can purchase and equip the truck to your liking.

Why would stevens buy trucks with all the extras, to give to students, that will not take care of the equipment? 50% wash out before 6 months.

 

Yeah I see your point about students but I was thinking more about you guys that have been there awhile why couldn't they get the trucks fully equipped, The new 680's that are coming in are not going to be for the students anyway. Maybe not all the trucks fully equipped but some of em on request from you guys?

Since your on here do you know which airport is closer to Stevens is it the Dallas/Fort Worth International or is it the Dallas Love Field airport? I,m trying to book my flight through Kayak but it's asking me which one. I've driven through Dallas a hundred times but never been to the airports.
