After living in the deep south for so may years my blood has thinned to the point that
    anything below 68 is co-co-co- coooold ! lol .
I'd be shivering so bad the only thing I'd hit with a shot gun would be a barn ... in the next state over .

On the other hand , " G. ( as in grizzly ) Bear Bait " might be a good c.b. name ... lol.

At the rest area south of Florence, KY. Was gonna stay at the same hotel I spent memorial day weekend at, rate then was $50 a night, when they told me $70 for tonight I walked out.

It's not too bad (temperature wise), only mid 80s with a breeze. Will be the first night I've spent in the truck with the windows open since North Carolina.

I did my first stop north of here earlier today, final stop in Florence tomorrow morning. Then I have to hang around til 2:00 pm so I can pick up my next load 1/2 mile away. That one delivers SW of Chicago Friday morning @ 9:00 am. Here's hoping I get a decent load OUT of Chicago before the weekend.

Flying J, Sikeston, MO heading for London, KY tomorrow.

Anybody know if there's a used truck value guide for trucks similar to Kelly Blue Book for cars?

So!! Today kinda sucked! Dropped my first load and went to grab a shorty 125 mile load which set me up for a 290 mile load for hometime. Sounds peachy. The Shorty loaded me up pretty quick and I went on my merry little way. The nearest Cat scale (enroute) was 25 miles down the road... Now I thought this load felt heavy, boy was I underestimating that!
    Steer 12020
    Drive 36060
    Trl 38880
umm need to return to shipper/ Mac 22... Return, gives me " well we've always loaded them(bales of cardboard) like that. I didn't think adding water to it would add that much weight."
So I inform him I am currently 7000lbs (86960) over gross... So he takes off 7500 lbs of cardboard bales... I go reweigh... Under gross but still over on the drives by 1600lbs, tandoms slid forward.
me and some random Swifty shove three of these heavy bales as far to the rear as we can by brute strength... Reweigh... Nope, back to shipper... He's not happy, only has half hr left before they close... I tell him how to work it so I have some room to slide back if need be... He kinda shrugs off. Well went and reweighed for a 5th time... Over by 420 on the drives... Wait a second... My new gross is 79580... Dunno how but, I went from 79160 to 79580 after burning 50 miles of fuel, about (10 gals)
gonna call DM in the AM and see what up...

Truck paper provides market value. They've got an online version that you can search for an exact match country-wide.

Pilot, Corbin, KY. Steak house next door with an excellent $12.99 prime rib and a Huddle House at the other end.

Been getting crap loads lately with 400 - 500 miles but a lot of time waiting for load appointment and way too much transit time. When I mac9 I get a message there's no other pu, del times available, please commit. Mac9 again and get a snarlgram, driver declined load twice, contact dm immediately. I'm thinking of putting in for hometime somewhere far away just to get some miles.

    Thanks ironpony,
Are the trucker paper values accepted by the banks for financing purpose like KBB?
