I wanted to know for Werner, between OTR and Regional, which one pays more on average? Another thing I was curious about is how hard is it to do regional or dedicated from a physicality standpoint? I hear it's more labor than OTR but how much more? is it something that you have to be in pretty good shape to do? Any help would be appreciated, I'm scheduled to go to Orientation for Werner in Allentown, PA later this week, and I just wanted more info on the differences between those types of trucking.

Dedicated will always pay the most, hard work long days. Then is northeast regional at 30 cpm, southeast and east coast at 29 cpm and otr at 28 cpm

    Slimpack Thanks this.

Oh ok. I didn't know that. In that case the next thing I want to ask is if anyone knows how hard it is to do Northeast regional? The reason I'm asking is because I wanted to know if you have to choose between a job that is more physically demanding, or a job that can get you more home time.

I'm running northeast right now, its ok I get my 3200 to 3600 miles a week sometimes less when I mess something up, also alot of trash hauling and tight deadlines are something that I have to deal with daily with still holding strong at 98% ontime. nyc,nj, and Boston are the hardest part of it but if is easy is not worth doing! There's a lot of walmart and heavy loads also.. gain your fm trust and home will be something that you will pick right now I could be home weekly since I'm in a strong load area but I don't like being home that's why I became a truck driver!

That's pretty good. Is it a lot of work in terms of the loading and unloading?

We don't load but few live unloads when you get to the receiving they will ask you if you want to unload or hire a lumper I usually hire a lumper and reimbursed since werner only pays a fractions to the driver if we choose to unload ourselves

Ruckie hopefully in a few weeks. ill be joining you out in the northeast. 3200 is pretty good for how congested the northeast is.

Thanks Ruckie, I really appreciate your responses. I think I'll try to get Northeast as well, it seems like the best option for me. Even if I can't pull down 3200 miles a week it stills sounds like a good gig.
