Remember, in order for the President to sign the bill, the House and Senate both had to approve and pass the bill. If you want to be ticked off about it, at least spread the blame equally to everyone culpable.

"Trucking Veteran" those guys think they have a license to complain 24/7. Have no volume control. Scream and yell at customers when things dont go your way. And never shut up at the lunch counter in a truck stop. They always have a story top the next guys story. It's always the government's fault.

All the while never forgetting to "crow bar" how long they've been in the business into any conversation, no matter how mundane the topic.

So you can label some of us as "newbs" just be aware you veterans have a insufferable reputation also.

Now that I'm at my home PC I can elaborate more
Again, a 500 mile trip can easily be done in one drive shift. I drove with a elog and without it. It doesn't make any bit of difference. Now if it was a 700+ mile trip, I would see your point.
Like I said, 17 hours is more than enough time to squeeze a 10 hour break in. If your truck has a sleeper birth, there's no excuse to be out of hours in this scenario. I've done this a hundred times. Log what you do and do what you log. I seriously doubt you spent all 17 of those hours sitting in the drivers seat or supervising the loading process. 45 minutes to a hour is all you need on line 4 at a shipper or reciever. Spend the rest of the time on line 2 if you have a sleeper.
No, I said if the shipper doesn't allow parking, take the violation. You have no choice but to move the truck off a customers yard when they want you to move. Don't think for a second that a customer won't have you arrested for tresspassing and have your truck towed.

I'm not talking about delivery. I'm talking about doing a trip plan before you accept the load.

Rates will go up when pigs fly over a frozen hell. There will always be an ample supply of bottom feeders willing to haul cheep freight, elogs or not.

Your permitted to go into sleeper if not required to physically supervise loading or unloading.

So you show up on time for a load of beer and have wait 5 hours for a door. You go into the sleeper for 5 hours and get a call to take door 4. You get up and back into the door, (that's legally line 4 paper or not) another 5 hours of loading you go into the sleeper. 10 hour into it your done but now you have to pull out and check out that's line 4 again.

Guess what if you want to be legal you need to take a 10, so don't tell me you don't bend the rules.
