Anyone else have the misfortune of having one of these in their truck? Mine overheats every day, I've had it looked at several times and after they "fix" it the thing starts overheating again a few days later. Anyone know what are the chances of getting the thing swapped out for a thermal king? I'm a company driver so I'm guessing chances aren't to good. Almost everyone that had one of these and I've talked to seemed to be having similar problems wondering if anyone had one and got it replaced or has one that actually
Works?

Sounds like the coolant system might be clogged. Did they flush the system out? Pray the oil sensor does not go out...LOL..

My first APU was a 1st generation Rigmaster. I fought with it for 9 years and only got 8500 hrs on it because it was broke down so much.
On my next truck I had a Pony Pack installed. Very poor design and absolutely no customer support. After 3 years I had it removed and taken to the scrap yard.
I currently am running a Dynasys 6000w Generator with electric heat and a/c. IT IS AWESOME!
I've slept comfortably in temperatures as high as 102 degrees in Kentucky. When it was installed I had them completely disconnect the factory blower from the ducting in my bunk and hook the Dynasys HVAC in it's place. I don't need the bunk a/c while I'm driving solo and the Dynasys puts out 400 cfm through 4 vents in the back wall of the sleeper and another that they installed on the front of the bed to blow into the cab area.
I had it installed at Boomer Diesel in Oklahoma City and they removed the Pony Pack and finished installing the Dynasys in less than 8 hours.
I only have 1000 hrs on it so far so too soon to speak about reliability but I'm a happy customer so far. Installed price was $9000.00 including shore power option.

icsheeple, mountaingote, rachi and 1 other person Thank this. -
This thing only had about 500 hours when i got the truck in late Feb since then i only put on about 400 hours on it the thing over heats even when it's only in the 80's and from other people who i talked to who have one it's almost always a sensor. Hell the thing has even overheated when it's in the 40's i had the webasto heater going and the apu auto started when the batteries got low a few mins later I'm freezing my but off trying to sleep.

I was in Springfield. 2 weeks ago they were cutting a hole and putting in a vent they say this should solve the over heating problem

One thing I did notice though, was the last problem only happened when the sun was hitting directly on the APU cover. I would pull the cover off and that seemed to help.
Also when u take it into the shop, have then check the fan sensor, that fan may not be starting and cooling the APU -
I have that POS Pony Pack too. All it is good for is charging the batteries. I had to disconnect the A/C . could not afford to keep putting it in the shop. Put shut off valves in the coolants system. Remove the heat exchanger as it leaked too bad. Now I fire it up just to charge the batteries. That was $8000 out the window . Have had that junk on my truck since 02. Your right, no customer service. Ed that ran the shop years ago did a great job but is in bad heath now and Rex cannot find any one to put up with his BS, wonder how much trade in I can get for this POS? Engine is in good shape.

My ringmaster overheated when I got it. Well I took it to a ringmaster dealer during home time in Orlando and they installed a new fan and the unplugged the coolant sensor that also checks coolant temp for overheating. Was fine til last month when it busted the radiator and all collabt leaked out and didn't shut off. Ran til she soft seized due to overheating. But I now have a brand new apu.

It doesn't matter how noisy a truck next to me is. When the rigblaster starts up it drowns the noise right out.
I've been having oil pressure sensor issues.
