Hello everyone, just picked me up a Cobra 29 WX NW ST and was wanting to get it peeked and tuned, and was wondering if there was anyone here that lives in or knows a place in Northwest indiana area that could do this. I looked online for someone, but was not able to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i've used him 3 times without issue. he set up my radio / linear on my last tractor and it worked great. i could run without the linear on the road and never had anyone say anything bad about sound quality (kept the conex board on low reverb and the mic gain to just where it wasn't overmodulating). in chicago near where 94/290 meet and those idiots like wheelchair willie rant 24/7 from his 4,500 watt base station, i could pop up to 200 watts and get over him. on the sideband, i could max out and talk to the wife in indy most of the time just fine.

remember, a good radio is only half of the deal. buy a quality antenna and make sure it has a good ground.

and please........... don't run a bunch of power to talk to the guy ahead of you on i-65.

almost forgot . there's steelrod at the 201 on i-65 on the other side of the petro. the entrance to his place is the entrance to the k.f.c. and the hotel. go to the lot behind the building to the house trailer. steelrod is a cranky old guy, but pretty good at radio work. DO NOT GO TO THE THIEVES UP ON 80/94 in gary!!!!

That guy came up to me at the Love's over by there in his red pickup truck and tried to hock $20 from me. I didn't need any of his services, and I don't appreciate anyone trying to persuade me to buy anything. To me, that's real shifty behavior. Otherwise, he seemed to really know what he was talking about as far as CB radios. I just didn't need any of his services.

got it peaked and tuned over there at Jims tech shop in Lake Station, Thanks again very happy with the turnout. For another question now, my antenna is a 250 watt magnet mount antenna I bought from pilot on burr st. Would it be ok to run a wilson 5000 on my cb without an amp or will that ruin my radio? Sorry if its a dumb question, but im new to CB's and really dont want to ruin my $150 radio, thanks.

As long as the antenna is tuned properly you will have no problem if your under the power handling limits of an antenna, going over the limit would probably lead to trouble.

    I-65 exit 201 Steelrods.
    I-69 exit 78 Key CB.

Both very good shops. Key is small but they do a ton of warranty work for Stryker. Good guys.

    Just for future reference.
