Electronic Logs... Good or bad?

i'll stick to my paper as a trash;demo hauler there is no set appointment times hell no set plan it is who ever has a load go grab it dispatch just says do what u gotta do. if i stayed 100% legal i wouldn't make any money not with boston traffic anyway we have our legit guys and they bring home average $600 a week then you u have the category where i fall in and we average anywhere from 1,000-1,300 a week take home. and really dont push to hard it's just we may "adjust" for certain circumstances.

so you guys can keep the babysitter i take care of myself

 

paper or e -log's, i would say this has too do what behind you for a trailer, my last job was a reefer wagon, i treat my hours like a check book, i have 70 too spend, so once i get rolling after first week on the job , i'm down too 30, why because of ot class all week, but once i get rolling , they always send me too Ca, too get load'ed, i tell boss sure okay but set up a relay half way back, np, then i set get my 34 , head back to Ca with a empty wagon, do over , but now i had a tad less then 70, spend all day getting loaded, down to 58, plus what i gain at midnight from day before, and run like heck , once that sleeper time was up, if they the rec has not open the window up on rec time's, i don't see how you can run from Ca to Georgia and be there on time, still when i was on paper, i did allot of back peddling on paper too make look legal, so running on e-logs will be a challange for me, look's they need too do some revamping on shipping times , as well as the rec times, they need too get caught up with the rest of world, or somehow make it work ,so the driver can run legal and not worry about it

 

If a driver drives himself to the point where he is impaired then he deserves what ever he gets when audited.

I struggled with this myself trying to get loads on time. I have found that proper route planning, experience and finding your niche will get you where you need to be with minimal fudging on paper logs. Its never ok to put yourself in a position where you become a danger to those around you on the road.
