Hello All,
I have an older RCI 2970 that I am trying to do the alignment on. on test point one I have 10.240 ok, on test point two I have 17.033, not 17.350. I have replaced the CPU board because it seemed to have been zapped by static electricity, Now the radio is working somewhat, so I started do do the alignment on this radio, Now I am stuck until I find out what I need to do to fix this problem, Can anyone help me with this? Thanks for reading this post, 73 for now.

Notice how there is nothing on that alignment page about clipping modulation limiters or bypassing voltage regulators (whack-pack bs), adding "swing kit" parts, etc...

Lots of hacks out there for sure and not a lot of good shops/techs left.

There have been two or three of the top CB techs in the country come on here, and the hams instantly attack them, even call them liars with no proof, and nothing is done. Moderators are obviously hammers too.... They just left, not worth it to them to come on here and get trashed and disrespected by the "snotty look down their noses at CBers" ham guys. The ham boys will be the "top dogs" on here no matter what ............. Oh yeah, who were they? Billy Dean Ward aka cbdoctor, been around for years and wasn't blowing smoke when he said what he said about being one of the biggest amp builders back in the day. And AB7IF, who did coin the word "tweaknician" way back in the day, to name two. Google them, they've been around forever, if you don't believe me. And they would have added more CB knowledge here than all the ham guys combined. I said "CB knowledge", not "electronic knowledge", although there are only a few on here that could hang with them in the "electronic knowledge" area. rollingradios (hope he hangs around) is another one who is top notch, and there are one or two others. None of the "ham guys" have ever worked on a Ranger!!! But cbdoctor and AB7IF have made their living doing that for the last 30 or 40 years.......but they aren't here anymore........sad!....................rant over
