Did any of those Big truck truckin' companies mention the Knights?
Just wonderin' 'cause they're part of the clan too.
Maude Knight married Chester R. England, the company founder.
Rogerthat Thanks this. -
AfterShock and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
While your hubby is working, have him do research on which direction he wants to go.
Schnieder may be a good long time job, but you can also make good money in LTL like me, tanker, or with your hubbies previous business ownership experience, he may be a good o/o.lbeck Thanks this. -

Here is something I ran across on another post, hope they don't mind my copying it:
http://crenglandclassaction.com/case_documents/Second_Amended_Complaint_Conformed.pdf
http://crenglandclassaction.com/case_documents/CR_England_Answer_to_SAC.pdf
You should be able to copy, and paste it into your browser to read.
But remember this is England and it probably won't go anywhere, but it is filed in CA.BigMuthaTrucka Thanks this. -
you are so right...England doesn't care. here how it works..they put you thru school just to learn enough to ace the test..then you go thru their phase 1 and 2 training...1 being you learn how to drive the truck and 2 the buisness part of it. then while in phase 1, you do 30 days, get off, upgrade then go to phase 2, where your told you have to run minimum 60 to 90 days with a trainer,...or if you lease, get your own truck and start making money!!up to .90 cents a mile..become a trainer and you can double it...and they lie, they have company jobs, when you file your application, when you talk to the recruiters, when you are in class, when you finish phase 1...you sign and sign and sign and sign a form each and every time what it is you want when done..lease or company....if they were no company jobs, then why offer it and why not tell you so each and every time you fill out the app saying thats what you want..to me that is a contract and they are in breech...but this gets better. so you choose to lease..youve never driven a truck till then..you only have 30 days experience on the road..guess what..you lease, and now you are a trainer and well i be ######..look who you training to be a truck driver as a phase 2 trainer but your old classmate you sat next to learning and preparing to get your CDL and he's now in your truck cuz he doesnt want to lease and the company sticks him on phase 2 to wait him out till he is fed up not making money that he has no choice but to lease.
...yup..on our American highways and byways England has newbies training newbies..oh that is why they are targeted by DOT..the troopers say it themselves..."we are going to pull you over when we see England cuz yalls saftey record is in the crapper" their CSA scores are atrocious...but they dont care, as long as their trucks are rolling, whether its you,me or the next guy in em.....it sucks...i know..i was a phase 1 trainerfor em for a year, and it pissed me off to see my students get shafted after they got off my truck..time and time again...so dont give up, if you have faith in your husbands skills, keep it going, dont stop driving, the decent and good jobs and companies like to hire drivers with minimum 2/3 yrs experience clean record....he'll have to do his time till then...good luck.. -
dont forget PRIDE...the youngest brother of the England klan..he doing it right tho, keeping his great gramps ethics and morals...no leasing , no o/o, all co. drivers and all i ever hear is good things from them..

This whole affair begs the question:
Is it ever a good idea to lease a truck from your company within the first year, if ever? I'm new and would love to run my own truck, but I'm hearing some real horror stories. Are there good companies that actually take care of their O/Os?
