that 115k you see in the lease is what you will have paid after the lease is up. should you do the full lease on a brand new truck.
like others have said. 60k balloon payment.
that puts the price tag at 175k for a new truck. as i mentioned earlier.
sorta like leasing a car. payments are less. but there's a ballooon payment at end of lease should you keep the car.
truck or car, either way you need a payment or financing.

Close snowy. I just looked at my lease about 5 minutes ago. The price of the truck was 114500. There were excelerated payments for 26 weeks of about 667, then 121 payments of 619. That comes to 92,241. If you were to then pay the 60k baloon payment the total paid would be 152,241, but that is not the value or price of the truck. What that representa is the principal and interest on the loan.
Another example (I used to be a realtor) you buy a house for 100k and put 20k down. You then take out a mortgage for80k at 5% your payment is $430/mo. After 30 years you have paid 154,800 plus the 20k down. So the home at the time of purchase was not worth 174,800 it was worth 100k (the purchase price is always looked at as the value) see what I mean? If I were to walk in with cash I cojld buy the house for 100k or the truck for 114500. They would not ask for the fiance charges, because there was no financing involved. Clear as mud right? -
One difference. At the end of the house loan the house might actually be worth 175K.

nad you said 150k. your original post was 80k. LOL
i don't think you can touch a new truck for under 150k, ceot for maybe volvo -

This is what the % people told me. I think its for the 2013's since then I picked up my lease from the house and looked at it. My $750 overstatement is far from $150000. Where did you get that I said $150000 -
Risen, have you paid any attention to the housing market? The house might be worth 175k, or it might be worth 75k at the end. A truck is a business expense. It's going to depreciate, and it's only ever going to cost you money, but with it you generate revenue. You can't be a truck driver without a truck, whether it's yours, leased to you, or just assigned to you.

I'm thinking about going to Central to gain Exp but after a year I do want to get into Dart. Should I do lease operator at central while I gain my exp. If anyone could help me out with that question. Also my wife and I want to move out of CA to AL does central have any terminals in AL or GA ?
-
Central has a terminal just outside atlanta at 675/285. if you're only staying for a year its going to be hard to lease. lease terms start at 8 months, and you'll need 50 days solo, plus 28 minimum training to lease, not to mention everything we've said on the last few pages about leasing.
larry73 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info so just stay as a company driver for a year.
