If you open the door, that gives them opportunity to see something that might justify further inspection of the interior of your truck, then one thing leads to another and so on. They are always looking for opportunity but usually won't challenge resistance without cause.

Can u say probable cause. Its easier to just open the door then have them play hardball. If ya got nothing to hide then you'll be fine

I refuse to give up my rights and have said no every time they wanted in, never had a issue after either.

I would never welcome them into my home without warrant, why welcome them inside my vehicle? It only gives them more opportunity to trump up some BS violation on you. They don't really expect you to let them in, but they've been trained to test you to see how far they can go with you.

I was at a truckstop and a guy gave me a piece of paper saying it's ilegal for a dot or state trooper to search your truck and can not scan over your log book so he just has to check if you have it....

"Legal" search is unclear here. If you're a company driver you don't own the vehicle, wouldn't your company have to consent to search?

I went across the scales about 2 weeks ago. Got pulled over to the side and got an inspection. I was polite and did what the DOT officer asked me to do. I drove away with a receipt for a level 2 with no violations.

He could had got me for a license plate lamp out on the trailer, no inspection sticker on the trailer and ABS light on.

I believe that he let me slide because I was polite and didnt #### an attitude like Im sure that most do.

You guys need to remember that YOUR attitude dictates their attitude!
