Just you typical electrical problems, and also something about the airlines under the dash. They feed into a distribution block on the firewall and everyone I know has had to replace it due to leaks.

This is 2012. You can't consider conversations with truckers at the Petro or on the CB as "research". Call for an actual price on an a part for a Volvo TODAY. What happened in 2006 is a long time ago.
The iShift is hands down the best automatic on the market. I'm not interested in ever driving or owning one but WOW are they smooth.mustanglover and Foxcover Thank this. -
Point is Volvo are so confident in their product that the down time now is practically non existent!
This means a lot to me as Iv bought many different types of trucks over the years both new and used and Iv always found Volvo a great product but if somethhing goes wrong it's hard to get them to stand behind it! Hence if they give such an incredable warrenty commitment I think it speaks for itself! -
Volvo is a 2011. Couple recall issues taken care of last month but no major problems. They did not have the part for the recall but I was off for a week anyway and didn't really care that the truck sat. Had a wheel seal and leveling valve issue this week - dealer fixed it in 5 hours from the time I hit the door under warranty. Granted - not a tranny issue but I think Volvo is getting better on the parts/service issue that they had in the past. As far as Freightliner vs Volvo vs Paccar dealers - I'd have to say the Paccar dealers "seem" to care more about the small owners but Freightliner and Volvo are about a dead heat in my experience.mustanglover and Foxcover Thank this.

I have an '06 780 and love it. No issues other than what you would see with any other truck. But get to a Volvo dealer and have the VIN run (do this with any truck you buy). You will be able to tell what work has been done under warranty. Volvo has already fixed the EGR and injector issues before production on my truck but looked at an '05 that I passed on because the injectors had never been replaced.
This really is a case by case. Pete shop here can't get local work to save its life. All the work is OTR breakdowns. My Volvo shop is great. But found a Volvo shop in TX that needs to be burned to the ground. -

Mack with auto Sucks Swamp Water through a Straw when hauling smooth bore tanks. With a manual I can balance a cup of water on the floor. The auto surges the load no matter what you do. If I won one free I'd burn the ticket.
But hey, "management" is all about the "latest toys".
