    Hello,

My husband is a newbie, he drives for CR England. I am just on here to learn. I don't know anything about this way of life. From what I have learned so far there is much more to it then the general population knows.

    Have a great day : )

I hope not either! I've heard so many stories. The economy is so bad you've got to take what you can though right?

if he holds his ground and stays company and moves on when he has the year+ all should be good

and yes when choices are few you gotta take what you can get...

i wish you both the best of luck

Welcome aboard, girl! Good to have you on board here. Feel free to ask away, there really isn't a stupid question in this industry. Much of it is up to the company your hubbie runs for. And there are greener pastures out there for him once he's paid his dues for the first year.

:biggrin_25517: Hi. I'm new to the trucking concept. I never paid attention until this week when I found myself in need of assistance to get home. I'm older and driving a 12-foot Penske truck was not easy for a woman alone starting from Washington to Southern California. So I followed a trucker and he let me tag along. He pulled into a rest stop which was totally public and smiled at me broadly. I was too shy to say "Hi" or even thank him. After that, I followed a number of truckers and discovered they were very safe drivers, kept a polite distance, but allowed me to "hitch-hike". I was careful to not get too close (tailgate) or be a nuisance. But their driving was definitely better than mine and I (and the other drivers in general) benefited from my following truckers who maintained a consistent legal speed and stable, safe driving practices. I have never felt like I am that good of a driver. I am very impressed with the professionalism of the truck drivers that allowed me to follow them. It was fun too.
