for last one month i have that problem on my Columbia 2005. The engine starts fine the problem is that throttle pedal doesn't accelerate some time and some times just disappear at the time i am driving. Went to several shops they replace censor, problem disappear for one week and then come back again. So frustrating because I have already spent $$$. Just want to see may be some one here had the same problem. Please let me know or if you have any advices please share with with me. Thank you in advance.

Wear in the pedal assembly itself causes this problem. The whole pedal assembly needs to be replaced to cure it, not just the sensor.
dismag Thanks this. -
ok thank you. I will replace it and let you know if it was the cause.

before you replace the pedal make sure all the terminals at the batteries are clean and there's good connection, hopefully a loose battery nut will the problem.
let us know what was it. -

wished I would have seen this earlier.
go get yourself a small volt/ohm multimeter. I got mine from walmart.

Use it to test things like your foot pedal BEFORE you replace it.
You need to use an analog on these because as you press the pedal, it's moving a potentiometer. It's basically a wire wrapped around an insulator core with a copper sweep on it.
It sits there all day long in the same spot and can wear a dead spot into the resistor side.
The only way to spot if it's bad is as you are pressing the pedal down with the ohmmeter hooked up, you will see the dead spot as a quick jump in the needle. It will go open and then come right back. Something you will NEVER see with a digital meter.
You can also use it for testing for bad wiring harnesses and connectors. Same thing. Needle will bounce when it sees a sudden open as you flex wires or move a connector and it comes back.
nice way to test for intermittent problems.DetroitDudeBro Thanks this. -
