Taking time off in that manner is typically frowned up.Every now and again isn't a big deal, but it'll be suggested that both drivers take time off at same time.Couple of reasons for this.Teams are planned ahead and around solo's.They are assigned bigger and more expensive trucks. They effectively paid more $.The productivity of a team and team truck is expected to be higher. You'll be assigned to a team fleet manager, who is judged on his productivity of his team fleet. That goes by the truck, not the driver. Then there is the matter of logistics.Assuming you both live in.same area.Let's say one driver wants off in Michigan. You hilite, or request home. They plan you home, you get off the truck. You want 3 days off.Your partner heads out. He gets a load to Georgia for example, 2 day transit.Hoping he has hours and all other factors. It won't be a priority, nor should it be to turn that truck directly back to Michigan. Now the other driver could hilite, but that still could be 7 days to get truck back.He takes off, you get on, whole cycle starts again.Won't be long before the fleet manager has something to say.Now again, special circumstances come up once in awhile, thats to be expected.

That makes alot of sense. Looks like me and my partner will have to sit down and discuss our home time schedule..all I care about is deer season. Thanks for that info
-
Now with that being you live down to river. If guys both take your time off at Taylor, you get to know the terminal folks, might be able to run short it bounce in out of Canada while partner is off.
-
ooo never thought of that! good idea! thank you!
-
Perfect reason to never drive team, having to worry about making decisions with somebody else in mind.
-
yeah but he's my friend and he's a family man so if i need to take time off, i doubt he will mind bc that just means he can go see his kid and wife.. and i have no ties at home so if he wants to take some time off, fine by me too, just means i get to head home and spend some money. We will make a good team. all im worried about is deer season in november... i want to take atleast 6 days off, preferably 8 so hopefully he can wait a while to start taking time off bc i dont want to burn up all my home time before deer season.

Hey everyone, I have a few more questions for you CWTL drivers.
1. What is the average miles per power unit per week?
2. How am I going to stay cool/warm while on the road?
3. What is the complete compensation policy?
5. Will they try to coerce me into leasing?
6. What sort of things will they charge me for?
7. What is the companies CSA scores?
8. Did you notice there was no number 4?
9. Did you just check to confirm there was no number 4?

Just joking around.....they dont charge you for anything. And you get reimbursed for almost everything, including things like showers. As for the time off thing, it is simply you have to earn your time off as well as your pay. You "earn" one day off for every week you work. So once you get home you get to use your time, that you earned by taking days off.
