I was there. The first truck in the street class had my ECM on it. Unfortunately he stuck an injector plunger around the 200-225 mark, but still got 278' running on 5 cylinders. I was surprised when he dropped the pull, but then they reset the sled after the second puller went a full pull. But that wasn't what I'd considered a street semi with propane on it. I left at 10:30, because I felt they wouldn't get to the PA Posse trucks before it rained again. The last two classes got rained out around 1 AM

Ya I left around 10 figuring that they werent gonna have enough of a break in the rain to finish up. I thought it was interesting that they placed the top three trucks that full pulled according to where the flagger stopped them... I guess they didn't want to have a pull off to keep things moving due to the weather.... Do you know Ron Meyers very well? What is going on with his pulling truck this year? I also havent saw Jim Barrons truck yet either. Last I talked to him it was supposed to be going back to Tom Lindsay over the winter to be re-worked. Any idea?

You didn't hear the gripping going on in the pits about them being waved to stop with a floating finish. A few guys got cheated on that deal.

No I don't know Ron well, but have been introduced to him a number of times at different pulls. I don't know why he isn't pulling.

Jim's truck never made it to Tom's that I know of last winter. So I doubt he'll be doing anything with the PA Posse this year, he'll probably show up at a few of the smaller fair shows this year I would think.

What are big power guys like them running for a clutch? I don't think a 6000lb lipe would hold up to that.

I believe they're using a pedal Crower. (not a Crowerglide those suck)

That is exactly what they're using

    Crower Pedal Clutch

Can you drive it like a Lipe for drag racing?

This clutch is both a centrifugal and a spring loaded pressure plate. At lower RPM the springs do most of the clamping and only have enough plate load to handle 2400 ft-lbs of torque being produced by the engine. As engine RPM increases depending on how much weight you have on the fingers the plate load increases to handle much more torque due to the centrifugal forces. You also have to realize as RPM increases while your driving it and you try to shift that the effort to push the clutch in increases and it can be difficult to disengage the clutch. I'm not sure these would work well doing the type of racing you're thinking about. The 4 disc is roughly around $5800 to $6000. The 5 disc is another $1100 if I remember correctly

No, it would be almost impossible to pull it out of gear at higher rpms due to the weights. The harder you spin it the harder it grabs.
