driving truck home for hometime ??

If anyone ever comes on YOUR property to tow your vehicle SHOOT THAT MUTHA FOOKER IN THE HEAD! The only tow truck driver that you will ever see on your property will have a repo order in his hand, otherwise its theft.

 

I can voucher for that. And most of the #### you see on TV of them getting in fights is all bull ####. I been with my step dad repo'n cars plenty of times and if some one has a problem we just call 911 if they are going to start some #### even if we still have the paper to repo it. Fake drama TV to make money.... So stupid, but in reality banks wouldn't contract a TOW company who gets in fights with people etc etc. Leads to law suits.

 

I would offer to do that but Im also starting a new job I just got back from Ga today gota go back next monday to get my truck so I dont have one to show right now.Ive been hauling fruit local and now thats done so am I thats a hard way to make a liveing I worked 75 give or take days in a row! Now just doing Fl Ga. Good luck at swift.

 

Some companies will let you take the truck close to home, and have you lock it in a secure lot.

 

And some carriers let you take it home and park in your driveway . It's all up to the carrier.

 

I'm trying to get into trucking and I'm trying to sort this issue out. I keep asking, "How will I get home?" and more often than not the company will tell me, "You take the truck home." or "You can drop off at someplace nearby." It's the last one that I don't get yet. I don't have a car yet and I live in Northern California. I'm pretty certain there is no place to park something that big around where I live.

Most of the people hiring drivers with no experience like me are down south. CRST, for example, is out of Fontana and they say that I could drop the truck off in Stockton or Modesto. But that doesn't explain where the truck is being dropped off. As far as I know, they don't have terminals in either of those cities. I need a reliable commute to where the truck is parked and a regular parking place. Is the company going to supply a parking space even where they don't have a terminal?

 

That's probably the least of your worries. If the carrier says you can drop in Stockton or Modesto but they don't have a terminal, they may have an arrangement with another carrier, a shipper or consignee, or just a property owner, that allows drivers to drop their units off.

 

OK, that's comforting. But how do I get home from there? And once I do get home, should I expect to go back where I left the truck? What if I'm driving a car? Where do I leave it? Can I arrange this in advance so that I can have a regular commute?
